My Dad has slides of cabbages like that from his Air Force days in Alaska in the early 1960s. Nothing new.

I have no doubt about the weight of the cabbage. But photographs taken using exaggerated perspective do not give a useful gauge of it's size.

FTA: "Hubacek told msnbc.com he'd spent the summer carefully feeding and tending a select set of cabbages in his garden and admitted that, at times, he'd personally challenged them. "I did push-ups in front of them. I'd say 'If I can do 100 push-ups ...' and I'd tell them to hurry up."

Great. Now I'm not sure which one is the vegetable.

They said it was four feet tall.. it looks about four feet tall in that image. It doesn't seem to be very exaggerated.

Yeah. I know. I hunted for the Tom Sadowski postcard with the giant cabbages as big as football fields pasted on the historical aerial photos of Anchorage, but about all Google can get is the On The Road To Tok one. And you guys should just buy the book.

^^^ Yes, that right up there ^^^

If this hadn't been the last year to go with my kid before she runs away to college I probably would have given it a pass. Had a pretty marginal $8.00 gyro and a pretty tasty caramel apple and that was it. Thank dog my fair-going days are over now.
