Gee thats pretty bad when the coach has to reprimand the fans....

2003-09-16 05:38:11 PM
Sure coach, whatever........ Yo, numbnuts, toss me a brewski dude

2003-09-16 05:45:12 PM
It would work if instead of telling them to simply behave, he gave them something else, something harmless, to do?

2003-09-16 06:29:08 PM

Oh, behave!

2003-09-16 07:48:53 PM
isn't being one collective asshole half the fun of sitting in the student section at a college football game?

Don't go to the game! It's not going to be pretty!

To paraphrase Randall "Pink" Floyd:

"You know what coach...we may go to the football game, but we will never sign this."

I went to a HS that was pretty educated - we had good sports teams, but when we would lose in a particularly underhanded way we would chant "Thats alright, thats okay, you're gonna work for us someday!" - I submit this as a way of getting back at those Miami fans.

"That's alright, thats okay, you're gonna pump our gas some day." -Bring it On

I also have the entire opening song memorized.

I hope BC kicks the shiat out of overrated Miami and then throws beer bottles at them a la the Browns.

Dear Farkers:

Our goal as a website is to be champions on the intarweb and the community as well as on your computer and we expect our Farkers to be champions, too. Post with class, be supportive at all times and send a message to everyone reading ... that Fark.com is a special place with even more special people.

Thank you, that is all...

Miami fans and players are generally the ones who need to be taught some civility, like when Nebraska made Warren Sapp cry at the end of the 1995 Orange Bowl(after the 1994 season).

Alex Trebek: The answer is.... Possible violence or riotous behaviour at a game.

Me: What is the only reason I'll watch college ball or CFL.

AT: Correct.

BC Sucks. Yankees Suck

2003-09-16 09:42:51 PM
I hear at Auburn the students have asked the football team to sign a petition to "win"

2003-09-16 09:43:50 PM
This morn, heard a mom tell of last weekend's away game of a private school. She was APALLED at parents cussing out kids and yelling at them for mistakes, even when the score was an impossible 53 to 0 , our favor. She lectured them right there that although there was no way that team could pull a win at this game, perhaps encouragement and support would be nice.
Yeah, touchy feely, but cussing out a 14 yr old sucks.

2003-09-16 09:51:45 PM
See, it's not unlikely; the event as depicted in the headline actually happened.

It would be "DUMBASS", because the players are unlikely to comply.

Right?

2003-09-16 09:56:37 PM
I can understand the coach wanting fans to remain calm, especially since Saturday's game is sure to be a modern day version the Boston Massacre.

/will be watching the Canes fark BC up the ass

2003-09-16 10:31:01 PM
BC may not always have an impressive record but they have a habit of being the thorn in the sides of many dominant teams. I love watching them play and hope I get to see this game.

2003-09-16 10:44:13 PM
Calling attention to Miami just makes it worse. They go away if no one looks at them.

2003-09-16 11:21:47 PM
""Our goal as a football team is to be champions in the classroom..."

Yeah, I guess that's why all the jugheads cheated off of me in class.

2003-09-16 11:27:19 PM
This really isn't a big deal. Just a letter to the students from a good coach. Unlike the UConn fans last week, BC fans are usually pretty well behaved. Drunk as hell, but well behaved. Damn, I miss the Mods. Go Eagles.

2003-09-16 11:36:36 PM
I'm sexy, I'm cute, I'm popular to boot. I'm biatchin', great hair, the boys all love to stare.
Who am I? Just guess, guys wanna touch my chest. I'm rocking I smile and many think I'm vile.
I jump and I roar, I swear I'm not a whore.
We cheer and we lead, we act like we're on speed. Hate us 'cause we're beautiful but we don't like you either. We're cheerleaders. We are cheerleaders. Roll call.

2003-09-16 11:41:11 PM
Do whatever you want, Miami. It's just more fuel for the fire that will rain shiat all over college football once the BCS agreement expires.

2003-09-16 11:42:14 PM
"BC fans are usually pretty well behaved. Drunk as hell, but well behaved."

Guess you weren't there after we lost the NCAA Hockey title game against North Dakota. Nearly burned down the Mods... :)

A thread about BC and Miami, and no picture of Flutie's miracle touchdown? Inconceivable!

BC alumnus and proud of it.

Actually, Desecrated, I was at the Whitehorse. But it was my senior year when we had the first hockey riots when BC lost to Michigan. Underclassmen can't enter the Mods thanks to our class. But even those were relatively tame. Sure. we were burning stuff in the quads, but there was no violence directed towards anyone.

2003-09-17 01:52:58 AM
BC Coach to fans: "Shut up your'e retawded"
Fans to coach: "No your'e retawded"
Repeat until the coach and some fans are caught frenching and dry humping.

2003-09-17 02:20:09 AM
eh, the only way i ever went to games was to serve the jerks in fr. leahy's skybox. go BC catering. (yeah, i was a theatre major)

2003-09-17 02:50:53 AM
Wow, another Yankeeland school up North with unruly fans.

I wonder if we'll see a full scale car-torching riot or just a bunch of beer bottles chucked at old ladies.

Damn Yankees.

Desecrated says:

""BC fans are usually pretty well behaved. Drunk as hell, but well behaved."

Ha ha. Remember the festivities after the semifinals game? If you saw the slip-n-slide and broken-glass wrestling, you saw my mod. 4B, as in, "4-Boston". We were scares out of our minds that the roit would take our backyard when we lost in the finals.

My favorite is still the burning heap of furniture after we lost to Michigan in '98. Or maybe Spiderman, but that's not sports - just legendary.

2003-09-17 09:35:24 AM
Damn, the Mods are still there? I thought they had been burned down/condemned years ago... I killed way too many brain cells there.

BenitoLupito - Are you talking about Spiderman the mod stripper? If so, I'm glad to hear the legend lives on.

I wonder if the shoe tree is still there...

Vaxhacker: A thread about BC and Miami, and no picture of Flutie's miracle touchdown? Inconceivable!

Sigh, I have to put up with that replay EVERY time I watch the Canes on TV, no matter who they play. Sheesh that play occured almost 2 decades ago! Can't the networks let it go already? Showing the replay against BC is understandable, but that play is mentioned every freaking game!

/me runs off and crys.

I think the myth that the mods are being torn down is actually older than the mods themselves. They're still there - they've actually been fenced in and you have to unlock a gate to get into the mods now.

Yes, the male stripper Spiderman. What a wonderfully bizarre tradition. For those of you not "in the know", every night during finals, a senior climbs out onto his roof dressed as spiderman, puts on some cheesy dance music and proceeds to remove the costume. He sometimes then rolls around on the ground. Try to imagine the first time you hear about this...

"Hey Ben, let's go, Spiderman is on the roof of the mods, taking his clothes off"
"Um... why would I want to go see this?"
But the thing is, you do. The crowd is impressively large each night.

The shoe tree is still there too.

This email might have been prompted by our behavior at the Virginia Tech game last year (also a night game). Someone threw a cup of soda at the ref. The volley continued until Coach O'Brien came over and urged the fans to keep it down, and someone started peling *him*. But that's what you get when your ultra-conservative coaching costs your team (4th and inches, game on the line, we'll punt, thanks!)

In general though, BC fans are usually pretty well-behaved. Look for us to definitely be a thorn in Miami's side; we almost beat them last year, if not for the quarterback we had at the time (the highest rated h.s. QB in Massachusetts, total bomb at college, Mr. Incomplete and Off Target). I hate you St. Pierre, pox on the Steelers!

Fark the Hurricanes, Fark the Yankees (that's for you Lyfemist), Fark the farking ACC. That said, I will start my descent into madness at Happy Hour at Roggie's on Friday, and then, blurred vision or not, I'll see you at the tailgates!

Che-Chi's forever.

Spiderman is hilarious. During my senior year the guy that was doing it had a smoke machine to go along with the music. The whole back yard of the mod was filled with smoke and blaring music and there was some nasty ass skinny dude stripping off a spiderman costume down to a thong. Everything about it was so wrong, but if you went to BC and you didn't see it, you surely missed out. The crowd would grow each night throughout finals as word spread to the uninitiated.

Damn the mods were fun.

Bc wins this in a tight one. 16-14 Knight rushes for 110 yards, but it when he gets the yards that is important. porter needs to have the game of his life, and a return from blackmon wouldn;t hurt either.....

mod 6a alum checking in.....go eagles....
