Living in Ohio, I wince when I see the Cincinnati.com logo on Fark. It's always something bizarre that undermines my faith in humanity. Wife swears by VS underthings, of course when they fail they fail in a spectacular fashion and usually around the 12 month mark.

I too love their bras, they function well, and have eliminated back pain for me. But you are right, when they fail, they do so incredibly. And twice it's been strap malfunctions while at work... Damn boobies...

This isn't news, this happens at least twice a week. Last year my store got hit for several times that. 3k? Amateurs.

I've had limited experience with VS bras (they don't do "mastectomy" styles, which is all I wear until I grow some of my own), but from what I've been told they really are bad to neutral quality. Someone I know swears by Playtex bras.
