In short, yes... Link (new window)

I guess the cool factor is they have come up with a mixture of stuff to recreate a HI-C flavor that probably hasn't been available for at least 5 years, although I don't know if they changed the formula when they changed the name.

Now, if they could just try to recreate Mickey Rooney's Watermelon Soda.

And I immediately wondered what would happen if you pissed on Jell-O powder... would it have the same consistency as regular Jell-O once chilled? Why am I spending time thinking about this?

Hah! I saw the video where Brad Jones (The Cinema Snob) tried it for himself. He said it was legit, and he knows his shiat about old drinks, so there you go.

Also, this is old news because that video was at least a few days old.

JFC that is a lot of sugar.

/Time for a trip to the store!

I wish someone had figured this out when they discontinued ecto cooler. The oldest was in mourning when it just stopped showing up in the stores.

Meh. Without the churchkey can opener, it loses some of the magic. Also it did not seem to recreate the toxic green color near and dear to my adolescent heart.

Ok, seriously, how much sugar was that?

Yeah, it seemed a little dark to me. I remember it having this nuclear green color to it.

mrmyxolodian: Ok, seriously, how much sugar was that?

Looked to me like 2 cups. How much goes into a gallon of Koolaid?

I didn't have the pleasure of trying the Ecto-cooler. So, I don't know what I'm missing....

But wasn't Vault basically a rebadged Surge? I know it tasted the same and I was addicted to it like I was Surge back in the day.

I also remember when they put Surge in the soda machines at school. That didn't last very long at all.

In short...BRING IT BACK!

I'm no scientist, but I hypothesize that you will become intoxicated.

Now, to the lab to test my hypothesis!

Seriously?

In my brain, I imagine that all of you dorks that are cheering about this actually have big fat man gunts like those in the video.

Who in the hell wants to drink that much sugar? I might have diabetes from just watching that concoction being made.

1 cup, I think; I usually do 1/2 c to the gallon for lemonade... but this shiat needs to be slimy.

I was going to be super nice and just type it out (and it looked like they used two cups of sugar, which is typical for a gallon of the Kool-Aid) but then I found this on their page. They say only 1 and a half cups. Enjoy!

Britney Spear's Speculum: They didn't say how much water though. Looks like 1 gallon?

Yeah, that's the part that ticked me. The proportions are meaningless if you don't know how much water there is. Sugar could potentially be modified to taste; I said 2C because I have a 2C pyrex measuring cup that looked exactly the same as the video.

My guess is a gallon, but I would try with a half-gallon and taste test.
