Who are we worried about offending exactly?

2011-08-30 07:32:34 PM
Meh, the images in my head are better.

2011-08-30 07:34:42 PM
Can we wait this time to let the t-shirt wearers get killed by an al-Qaeda operative before we pre-emptively ban the shirts? I can't imagine who else might be offended by a bin Laden shirt, assuming the shirt itself is otherwise tasteful.

2011-08-30 07:35:11 PM
Naturally, the picture is harmless, and people are just uptight whiny douches.

FTFA "The shirt in no way, shape or form was intended to be racist, or bigotry and anything along those lines," said Don Bell, the festival T-Shirt creator.

If that's the case then why did you make a shirt that makes you look like a racist and a bigot?

Does the lumber jack like to wear suspenders and a bra?

2011-08-30 07:36:17 PM
At least they spelled Osama right, unlike some people did as they got added to the Secret Service's watch list when Bin Laden was killed.

This years shirt is going platinum

I don't get it . He's dead and gone. What's the point of the shirt?

What do you think they are being 'racist' and 'bigoted' about? From all the news reports, everybody hated Bin Ladin. Who would be offended?

2011-08-30 07:37:58 PM
God forbid anyone should tarnish the memory of a mass murderer

Would have made a great "Ax Men" episode on The History Channel.

The Spoony Bard: Who are we worried about offending exactly?

They make the USA guy a maliciously grinning man with his face hidden in shadow and Osama a wide-eyed helplessly bound man at the mercy of his captor?

This type of anti-American imagery should offend all of us.

I'm finding it difficult to be upset about this. That's just me though.

"Bin laden was buried in a wood product, and that's what sparked the idea for the shirt, and that's what we have him doing,"

No he wasn't, you ignorant fark - he was wrapped in a burial shroud, placed in a weighed bag, and dumped in to Davy Jones Locker.

But I wouldn't expect a bunch of marginally employed ex-loggers to be knowledgable.

People who like their gay softcore S&M without politcal overtones, I guess.

but how does the shirt exemplify Loggers Playday? i mean, do they mean to portray that Loggers killed Bin Laden?
if anything is tarnished, i'd say it's the freaking celebration.

Agatha Crispy: Who would be offended?

Ever notice how some of the same people (and not just Rage Boy) are at every protest, or doing an emphatic headshake at every poverty pimp's press conference, or available to give a statement to the press urging prosecution any time someone cracks a joke?

2011-08-30 07:43:09 PM
Meh.

My outrage is best left for when I see government officials trying to funnel money from the least of us to their corporate lobby-buddies.

I don't really find it racist at all. A shirt with some burning middle Easterners on it or something with a slogan saying "Death to Sand Nggers!" is racist.

This is a picture of a person about to drown the mastermind of terror attacks that killed thousands in our country, and TFA clearly states they do it because the event takes place to commemorate 9/11, 1 day later.

These people just want to whine and be indignant over something. Grow up.

2011-08-30 07:45:04 PM
these are the same people who believe osama was behind the 9/11 attacks?

2011-08-30 07:45:17 PM
So they're going to jihad loggers?

Good luck with that.

FT's:
She said she agrees the shirt is funny. "I don't think there's any racism behind it. So, for me, I'm not going to take it personally if somebody doesn't like it. Obviously it's a popular shirt. I say it's a win-win."

Really? It's funny? I don't care If it's offensive but it sure as he'll isn't funny.

so rather than only going to 10, they go to 11?

It works on any Ayatollah -- Ayatollah Nakhbadeh, Ayatollah Zahedi. Even as we speak, Ayatollah Razmada and his cadre of fanatics are consolidating their power.

That's more random than anything. I wonder if I can buy an air hockey table but with Pol Pot's and Idi Amin's faces on the discs. Because, fark 'em, I guess.

People who annoy you?

A Facebook page for the festival is lighting up with comments for and against the shirts, with accusations of racism, hatred and poor taste.

Boo-farking-hoo. I don't think I can find a violin small enough to play for these people.

That guy has way too many fingers and hands and shiat.

In America if you are a black guy you can kill a Muslim.

But whitey better not put a picture of one a a T-Shirt.

Known for being edgy, previous designs have mocked environmentalists and hippies.

Nobody mocks those guys. Damn, this shiat is edgy. Maybe in ten years they can make fun of hipsters. That'll blow people's minds!
