At least he didn't spontaneously become Asian, like Kenny Rogers did.

It must be tough, or at least semi-tough, to have a career as a sex symbol and watch your looks fade. He might be telling the truth, though. He might have had a stroke or asymmetrical aging of his skin. And it will be interesting to see, as noted above with Kenny Rogers, who, in regards to maintaining his looks, holds out the longest -- yards of surgical thread will be used, I'm sure. He might also consider working his midsection -- a hula hoop or other kind of abdominal workout might be good for him. Dancing might be good for that as well; I've heard he can get down and boogie! Nights spent looking for deliverance from aging are going to be disappointing, though. Maybe he can just look back on his reputation as a man who loved women and it will all work out in the end.

Thats terrible... i mean, i'm shocked that he's "only" 75. had he just grown older gracefully, he'd probably look ten times better than he does.

Too obvious, dude.

He looks like he had some work done, not terribly extreme yet, but I guess that type of work is a drug that you can't quit after the first time.

I get the feeling that a lot of these stars are aging like shiat due to the amount of chemicals they were putting on their skin through out their careers. Basically all the touch ups took away their chance to age gracefully. But goddamn, almost all plastic surgery / pull back work looks horrible on older folk and younger folk. Why the heck do they do it? If it actually made them look younger and healthier I'd understand. but... ughhhh

/That makes me a saaaaaaaad panda... but you can't tell due to the cosmetic surgery.

Hey, I'm at work and I wrote it in five minutes. Give me a little credit!

Yea right, Burt. Your face looks totally natural. Heh.

2011-08-30 06:33:29 PM
And he's not bald either, you rumor-mongering harpies.

2011-08-30 06:35:49 PM
Yeah, I'm a little surprised Burt's balls aren't hanging from his chin by now. Just come clean, dude. Vanity is no crime. The sad thing is he probably would have aged pretty well anyway.

Not only has he had a facelift but he's senile ....

Why does every single one of these people swear up and down that they've never had any surgical intervention? What do they think will happen if they 'fess up - will their fairy godmother turn their head into pumpkin?

Burt is so full of sh*t... good aging from his father? If that's good aging... yikes.

He claims that he never had a facelift?

Fark, the only person he's fooling is himself.

He had work done a number of years and it still looks terrible.

Damn, I love this movie. The book is just as good. And for those who don't know, the author (James Dickey) plays the sheriff.

Does he have enough skin left in his face to pull?

He's looking less lifelike these days than the Madame Tussaud's wax figure of him.

It's good that you get these small moments in life to feel better about yourself. That's what matters. Am I right?

Blechhhhy. I wish these guys would realize they're better looking leavin' it the Hell alone. Even Robert Redford had his eyes done... nasty. It's like those men who wear a toupee. It's so obvious it's not their own hair. So much more attractive seeing a man age gracefully with confidence than a damn fool trying to cover it up. I'll take wrinkles and a bald head over a phony any damn day of the week.

I just watched 'The Crew' and came to a realization having seen that, and these pictures:

...I think he had a stroke, and rather than let that half of his face sag, he opted for nerve treatment - which works just like Botox does. It leaves the skin tight and non-elastic, looks a little more false, but allows for the entire face to move instead of just part of it.

Even viruses can attack nerves. It doesn't necessarily have to be committed to the fault of disease or disability. Mr. Reynolds is notoriously narcissistic and egocentric. Dick Clark suffered a stroke as well as Kirk Douglas. You don't see them using their ailments as excuses.

My point is this: it's far more attractive having confidence in accepting who you are and how you look. If you carry yourself as such, you're seen in a better light. These celebs who constantly buckle to what they "think" is attractive only leads them to extremes in maintaining this sick image. They risk their health, their careers and ultimately their image ironically. They end up looking worse and losing that much more respect and admiration from the public. It's sad. It's ugly.

Reminds me of that scene from Holy Man where Eddie Murphy was electrocuting Morgan Fairchild while saying "Doesn't she look surprised?"

Sadly, youtube does not have a clip of it.

I can forgive Redford as he had the droopy upper eye fold and as you age it actually gets harder to see. I have it too (worse than he did) and really notice it when I'm tired. Pain in the ass vision impairment. By the time I'm 65 it may really suck and I won't hesitate to get it fixed.

As for Burt's jaw, he had it broken when he was filming Kansas City with Eastwood and I don't think it ever healed correctly. He couldn't eat for a long time and lost a bunch of weight, which gave rise to AIDS rumors in the tabloids in the 80s.

He has more wrinkles on his forehead in that Deliverance picture above than he does in the link.

True, one of my uncles suffered from the overlapping eyelid skin that impaired his vision as well. He too had it corrected via plastic surgery. It's one thing when it's a benefit towards the means of improving the quality of life as opposed to merely attempting to retain ones youth in the name of vanity.

Then again, now I'm compelled to think of women who after having a breast removed due to Breast Cancer, opt for a saline implant and nipple reconstruction surgery. It's more or less a matter of vanity and cosmetics over absolute necessity. So, I concede... but only so far. I just can't stand the plastic surgery routes so many celebs take and only for the sake of hanging on to an image that's honestly, no longer there.
