Great comments. Let me sum them up: "This is because of the liberal media! Hurrrr!!!"

I guess this is my last chance then to tell RK57957 and SteveC and Bill Hiccup and atxdrummer and the others that they are hypocritical liberals who are neither intelligent nor smart and are too lazy or too clueless to understand the terrible things Obama and the democrats are doing to Austin, Texas, and America.

Why don't you tell us your real opinion miss Jacquelyne?

It must be nice, being able to blame all the woes of your life on one person

I think some people have been focusing on the negative for so long, they can't see anything positive anymore.

If it is positive, they must turn it into a negative somehow.

They need to hire Jeff as a moderator. He's good at defusing situations like this.

This is great.

"This is my last chance to vent my anger at LKKJKGJ because he was angry with the anger I showed at the angriness of thos liberal mobs that aren't angry enough at 0bama's anger towards partiotic Americans like me! It makes me angry to think my anger will now go unanswerd by the pinko commie liberal angry obama-fellating angry mobs! Anger!"

All readers of the newspaper have expressed their opinions. Time to stop publishing.

My favorite comment in the thread. Sums up everything perfectly, and without a single trace of irony:

"I am more patriotic than the President and much less of a hate monger. And it is easy for you to call someone a coward anonymously over the Internet."

Local paper's site regularly blocks commenting on any article that might have lively discussion. Only fluff pieces get comments.

Usually, it's good to disable comments when you know your article is the stinkiest of pure evil. Like, if FoxNews ran the headline: "Bill O'reilly officially denied chance to ever earn a Peabody Award by liberal judges", people would go farkING INSANE.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Online's comments make Farkers look like the Harvard debate team. They disable comments for any story that might have a racial angle as it always turns into some sort of virtual Klan rally. Conclusion: A majority of people who comment on newspaper websites are complete idiots and/or TEAhadists.

If you think that's bad, check out the blogs at a local sister paper, livinglakecountry.com. It's like a marx brothers pie-fight over there.

I hate all of those people.

Seems to me this is a mild form of censorship so the AAS and their editors can promote an agenda without being called on it.

Especially that farking idiot.

I'm surprised any of those dipshiats even known how to read.

MikeMc: people who comment on newspaper websites are complete idiots and/or TEAhadists.

On Phoenix's local paper, comments seem to break down like so:

News: tons of people saying "all the problems in the world are due to liberals and I hate them!!1!"
Sports: tons of people saying "local sports team N sucks and I hate them and their fans are stupid!!1!"
Business: a few people saying "the economy sucks because of liberals!!1!"
Offbeat: actual intelligent/funny comments, almost nobody being a complete twunt, it's sort of like a smaller lower-traffic Fark Lite

Part of this is because newspaper websites tend to want to encourage everyone to contribute. And the people with the most time and the least intelligence tend to post the most stuff. Since the offbeat stories tend to involve humor, the people who comment there tend to have a sense of humor, which probably has some correlation with being a little smarter and less likely to post complete crap than the average idiot. I think.
