$92k for being fat?

Cutting him off would be a good place to start. Forcing him to pay it back would be much, much better.

Obviously it is the unions fault for negotiating a benefits package that could be defrauded so easily.

Considering sleep apnea can cause brain damage, this explains a lot.

2011-08-26 10:53:04 AM
He only got union benefits, disability payments and sleep apnea so he could learn how to take it all down from the INSIDE!

Being fat doesn't cause sleep apnea. It just makes it worse.

I have sleep apnea and I'm not a fatty. Where do I sign up for 92K? Oh yeah, I don't, because I can buy $5 boxes of nasal strips from Kroger, and because I'm not a tea bagging hypocritical pile of horse shiat.

lol seems to prove the point of the screwing that unions give to businesses and tax payers. Hypocrit or not...that is way too much money. Nope...fark the public unions and their entitled asses. Except the cops and firemen...they get paid little in exchange for benefits later...I find that to be equitable.

Is sleep apnea the one where you eat yourself fat while sleeping, or the one that makes you drive one hundred and twenty miles in the middle of the night to go meet your mistress?

Wait, I can get disability for Sleep Apnea? CHA-CHING.

\Not serious.

I can has disability payments? I am no more than 10 lbs overweight now (I've dropped almost 70 pounds in 3 years, 30 of those just this year) and still have occasional apnea episodes if I sleep on my back. I don't throw around the word "hate" that often, but I hate my CPAP machine, and losing weight was driven in part by freeing myself from that damn machine... I am disappointed that my apnea isn't completely gone, especially since I'll be Edward Norton In Fightclub skinny by the end of the year and I know at this point it won't solve the problem entirely...

LOL wut. They get paid plenty for the amount of "work" that they do.

And no, neither are very dangerous jobs when you look at the numbers.

Wow, only Fark would make fun of a disabled person. I don't know what sleep apnea is, but if the guy's doctor says he's got it, then too bad-too sad, he's got to deal with it. I feel bad for the guy.

2011-08-26 01:32:28 PM
He used whatever means were at his disposal to get ahead. He did what he had to do. I see nothing wrong with what he did.

Is that a Timothy Zahn reference? Joruus C'Boath? Why yes, I do have 'The Last Command' on my bookshelf, and I desperately wished they would be the source material for the new movies...

/sigh

THIS! C-Pap has relieved 2 of my relatives with sleep apnea. I gotta agree, $92K in disability seems like a BS benefits package.

I guess that joke wrote itself.

Sounds like a disability insurance policy that pays when you are unable to engage in your "usual occupation." Common in many professional jobs, union and non-union. Employee often pays lion's share of premium.

A CPAP machine eliminates sleep issues caused by apnea. They are less than $200 and are usually paid for by health insurance plans.

There is no way he gets $92,000 from disability.

His annual income is $92,000. Some of that is diability. What a terrible article.

I can't believe I know this one but: Timothy Zahn's Star Wars Thrawn Trilogy. Reactivating the technology from the clone wars allowed them to create clones of Jedi Knights, but for some reason you had to add a vowel to the clone's name, so a clone of Luke Skywalker became Luuke Skywalker.

I have to give myself a swirly now.

Sleep Apnea is not a weight issue, it is made WORSE by weight, but the actual problem is not related to how heavy you are. You should ask about corrective surgery to free yourself from the machine.

I personally love mine, but I can understand how someone wouldn't like it.

So the guy hates unions, and found a way to abuse a system the unions set up. I have no problem with this. He is eligible for the crazyy plan so he is using it. If he is successful in his fight against the unions he will lose the benefit.

I would only have a problem with this if he ralied against unions but still wanted to protect the sleep apnea deal.

He is following the rules and wants to change them.

If I were against the DMV, I would still need a license.

Welfare Leech Congressman Chip Cravaak Receives $93K from Government for Sleeping!!!

There is no reason for this disability payment, as treatment is fairly simple, relatively inexpensive, and can be done at home.

Source: I've seen it - my sister did it - and my dad is an SA tech.
