"The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God...successfully with the help of the federal court system...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the finger in their face and say you helped this happen."

America, land of the afraid and home of the loons.

comical clip from an article:
Firefighters raced to 111 Devonshire St. in the downtown area to investigate reports that the building had started to lean after the tremor. But Deputy Fire Chief Richard DiBenedetto said that, according to the building manager and city inspectors, the building always looked that way.

Of course, we all know that earthquakes aren't really caused by Obama. They are caused by homosexuals and their gay agenda, especially the destruction of heterosexual marriage by enticing the weak-minded heterosexuals into the gay lifestyle, which is virtually irresistable, especially for conservative politicians and fundamentalist preachers.

Homosexuals should pray to Saint Emygdalus of Sienna, the patron saint who protects against earthquakes (and hence, auto-da-fés).

Make the connection before Pat Robertson does. Like this guy:

Some Kind of Prophecy Fulfilling Quake Near Washington (And Trinidad)
by: Colorado Pols
Tue Aug 23, 2011 at 12:20:36 PM MDT

Washington Post, still standing:

U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed an earthquake struck central Virginia at 1:53 p.m. It has been felt throughout the D.C. metro region. Am hearing it measured 5.8 on Richter scale...
Curiously, this comes immediately after an 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit near Trinidad, Colorado late yesterday evening. We have no televangelist confirmation of any relationship between these two seismic events, but earthquakes occurring so close together in time in the nation's capital and the former "sex-change capital of the world"...well, that's ripe for, you know, interpretation Jimmy Swaggart-style if a thing ever was.

And if we just helped an idiot somewhere make that connection, sorry. Somebody was going to.

That's not really useful information without at least a general location. People have felt it from NC to Canada. I'm in a brand new glass building in Maryland. We definitely felt it here, so people freaked out a fair ammount.

2011-08-23 04:23:47 PM
Little known fact about Katrina. Everyone likes to point fingers at the big politicos, but in reality, there were some pretty common, everyday office people that caused major farkups. I used to work with one of those people. Before he was let go of the company I work at, he was let go from a large industrial supply company, mostly because he farked up the logistics of several large government supply orders that were heading to the relief efforts. They didn't get out of the distribution centers and onto trucks as quickly and efficiently as they could have. Things you never really think about.

Well, I heard back from our guy in Washington and he says the earthquake was pretty much like the smaller one we had here in Ottawa: the building shook for about 15 seconds and then the bureaucrats automatically left and went home for the rest of the day.

Mind you, it was 2:30 or so. Most of them would have been ready to leave soon any way.

No, we just moved on. Obama is currently in charge and responsible for everything that happens during his term. If someone can take all the credit for things that go right or work out finally in his term (events that began long before he hit office), then the same goes for the negative aspects as well.

What stupid thing to say. If you know that you error, you should frequently be in doubt. Then check, re-check, and triple-check your work. That's just good decision making.

On a more serious note, the National Cathedral was damaged by the earthquake because it's stone and on the highest point of land in Washington. Three spires broke off and a 4th spire is leaning. The building has been closed to the public until it can be inspected.
