Well, obviously, the very first thing that doomed this entire production in the first place is that it is a Baltimore Fashion event.

I could only picture a head in a jar, sitting in the middle of a hotel bed.

Well, they're not hillbillies. You can't expect them all to sleep in the same bed.

FTA: Fashion Week founder Sharan Nixon said she canceled Williams' contract because he made last-minute requests which soured the deal - accusations Williams' camp denies.

Am I the only one who envisioned "Williams' camp" as several guys under an overpass around an oil barrel fire?

Don't buy it for a minute, the whole thing is farked.
/ was planned for months with no actual contract for the space they wanted to use, has been moved indoors to the scottish rite temple.

There's a good reason this guy was homeless. His entire life has been bad personal choices, and the only thing he has going for him is that fantastic voice. As soon as he got his brief moment of fame he reverted to the gigantic selfish prick he is. Advertisers (Kraft) started dropping him like hot potatoes as soon as they realized what they were tying their brands to.

Nice voice though!

Agreed. When an event is cutting things right and left and changing venues, it's either being poorly managed, or revenue expectations were overestimated, or both. You have to draw the line somewhere, and there may some truth to Williams' high-maintenance, but it sounds like a scapegoat issue at best. You don't break a contract just because they "request" an extra hotel room or 10 other things. You just say no.

EXACTLY.
It's like the Grand Prix in heels.. over sold idea, completely farked in execution. They've even managed to piss off local media by not extending the usual " do interviews, send a press pass"
The only people that are really suffering for this are the small designers that are getting farked. They get either no or bad press.

It's Baltimore. Poorly managed sounds about right. And yes, I agree it sounds like Mr. Williams is being scapegoated. Hotel rooms is nothing. If you can't afford to house your guests, you're farked and shouldn't try to make your guests look bad.

wait, you are telling me there is a black guy who got a real second chance in life, a chance to be rich, famous, and a role model.... and he's not showing up to work?

Well I'm just shocked that a black person would ever choose to ditch work because they can't understand a contract.

The guy has a good voice -- but a fried brain. He's useless to society, I can't wait till he's back in the ghetto and we never hear from him again.

Hmmmmmmmm, let's see:

1. Get a good job;

2. Let it go to your head;

3. Start drinking and lose everything;

4. Wallow in the gutter feering sorry for yourself;

5. Get a lucky break;

6. Get a good job;

7. Let it go to your head;

8. Start drinking and lose everything.

That about get it?

Divine is buried like around the corner from where I used to live. People routinely "beautify" his grave, like by painting the nails of the praying hands on it and stuff.

Only been to Baltimore once.. wasn't all that bad but I thought the subway was crazy-underused... but many of the stops all the stores were boarded up and all... looked like you were going to an abandoned factory or something. I was left wondering which came first... shaitty subway or shaitty area.

Giving people like that instant fame, priviledges and money always leads to disaster.

The reason he is homeless is because he doesn't know how to keep his sh*t together, and instantly when he gets a few bucks and some attention he wants to live like a rap star.
