You give music...a bad name

2003-09-13 10:06:34 AM
An interesting concept...I wish some other band would have thought of it...

2003-09-13 10:52:47 AM
Oh...it says greatest hits...not good songs...If that where the case it could be a cd single...

2003-09-13 11:09:34 AM

Bon Jovi's greatest hits: Oxymoron

2003-09-13 11:44:01 AM
I can't wait to hear it. I love what he did with Prayer '94.

2003-09-13 11:44:37 AM
In my humble opinion he hasn't had any hits so how could he possibly have a greatest hits album?

2003-09-13 11:44:57 AM
never cared for bon jovi myself, my girlie does though. She used to go around saying shock the monkey. i always thought that it was some sort of sexual reference, turns out shes just into 80's music.

2003-09-13 11:45:09 AM
yesterday, i heard an acoustic version of "Livin on a Prayer"

It was completely different from the original, cast a depressing tone on the song. I suggest you all get it, and discuss amongst yourselves

Below me: Shock the monkey is from Peter Gabriel. Thou shalt not use their names in the same sentance.

2003-09-13 11:47:46 AM
I'm not saying the submitter is an idiot, but according to the article the album will feature only reworked versions of the songs.

2003-09-13 11:48:46 AM
I stood in line once for about three hours for Bon Jovi tickets (with a hot lil' blonde co-worker, which was the ONLY reason why I did it) -

1. Become Hairspray Rock God in the 80's
2. Become obscure
3. Wait for a new generation of kids to reach your target age and your former fans to hit that 'nostangic' phase
4. ???
5. Profit!

2003-09-13 11:58:02 AM
I worked on a couple of their motorcycles back in the late 80s when I was employed at Long Branch H-D in Jersey. Real nice bunch of guys.

2003-09-13 12:01:07 PM
New Jersey sucks.

What the hell? How does news like this get approved when news about The Pixies reuniting doesn't?

2003-09-13 12:08:09 PM
I ain't paying 9.99 for a two-track album.

2003-09-13 12:09:12 PM
I'm trying to care. Really, I am trying.

I'm betting it will be one of the least downloaded albums of all time. I just can't see myself even wanting it for free.

bon jovi suck, the worst thing is i live near a guy who keeps singing bon jovi songs at the top of his voice, it really pisses me off.

2003-09-13 12:17:45 PM
Hmm, let's see how many top ten Bon Jovi has; Wanted Dead Or Alive, You Give Love A Bad Name, Runaway, Livin' On A Prayer, Thank You For Loving Me, I'll Be There For You, In and Out Of Love just to name a few.

2003-09-13 12:18:50 PM
Slippery When wet is still one of the greatest selling albums of all time. So bash on you farking over analytical pre-pubescent neophites. Regardless of their music being good to you, alot of people bought their records and continue to do so, but you guys are experts right? For the record I think they suck too, but I will not attempt to diminish their success by trying to be 'cool' and bash them.

2003-09-13 12:18:53 PM
I have never understood why it is that VH1 and the media in general keep trying so hard to convince us that Bon Jovi is still relevant (or ever were, for that matter) I don't know on single person who would admit to liking them. Who's supporting these losers?

Some songs are done with jazz riffs, or tempos changed, or instrumentation redone.

Alternate headline: Aging rock band turns to free-form jazz exploration in futile attempt to reinvent themselves.

2003-09-13 12:22:58 PM
Feh. Aerosmith has been Writing, recording, and releasing the same farking song with a different title for years.

"I don't know on single person who would admit to liking them. Who's supporting these losers?"

I love them. They're music is great.
