My thoughts as well.

Maybe a headline about him being a vegan despite his affinity for cows to milk him...

I not only eat meat, I hunt. Still, I have always found this idea of "herp derp dumb vegans I eat extra animals to make you mad" especially stupid. Whatever gets you through the day, I suppose.

Is "eating" a verb or an adjective in this case?

2011-08-19 12:04:02 AM
cutting out meat and dairy can leave a lot of room for nutrient-poor choices like potato chips and Taco Bell burritos

Does this mean that vegans consider Taco Bell beef so far removed from the real thing that they can eat it?

News of his new diet started trickling out after daughter Chelsea Clinton's July 31 wedding, an event at which guests dined on vegan dishes and a gluten-free cake, and at which Clinton appeared slim and healthy.

Slim and healthy? He looks sort of like he's on chemotherapy, just like almost every other vegan and without the hair loss. I'm sure he's doing the diet correctly, but there's just something about what a vegan diet does to your body form that says unhealthy and anemic.

But he most likely killed a few thousand bugs and millions of bacteria. Oh wait I forgot, life is only precious when it inhabits something cute to look at.

He had to cut out that stuff, to live. And damn to tell the truth if ran again, I'd vote for him. He'd did better job running the country then Dubya or Obama.

For every animal that Clinton doesn't eat, some Neanderthal carnivore Bush-worshiping redneck will eat three.

/I could have told him about the benefits of vegetarianism the year he took office, which was the same year I became a vegetarian

I don't necessarily eat more animals or anything. But I did go to a restaurant with a vegan once, and she let me have it when I almost ordered eggs about how chickens were treated so cruelly. So that was the first and only time I've ever eaten veal. I would have preferred the eggs, but it's almost like she twisted my arm.

The only trouble I have with my Vegan friends is they seem a bit pretentious about it. Whenever I get a pizza or something at there place they just have to mention that it's Vegan, organic, homegrown, local, free trade. It's 3am, I'm home from the bar as long as it fills me up.

Seriously? 200? There are 7 people in my family, and half a beef, half a hog and a couple of deer will last us an entire year. Unfertilized chicken eggs are not animals, so that doesn't count. What the hell is (or was) this guy eating??

I guess I haven't seen any recent pictures of him. The last I saw of him he looked old, but not "living dead" old. The guy just doesn't look healthy.

MisterLoki:

Of those two things, eating meat (at least if you're supporting factory farms) is by far the crueler. If everyone only ate meat that they raised/hunted themselves, I doubt there would be nearly as many vegans.

Just thought I'd point that out. I was surprised to find out that my dad (a hunter) believed that vegans primarily oppose hunting, when they're much more concerned with living conditions for animals that would put people in jail were they raising cats or dogs. Not sure where he got it, I think it's something that Fox News tells him to get him to hate hippies. I'm not saying I think you're that type, though; you seem pretty reasonable.
