As if Ashton Kutcher wasn't a valid enough reason not to watch.

My valid reason is "sucked before, why would it be better now?"

Two-and-a-half overpaid, undertalented actors.

You are a small, small human being to begrudge him that.

Ashton Kutcher, aside from being a generous philanthropist, is quite funny and talented. You can go suck a cock through a sock, subby.

AverageAmericanGuy: Ashton Kutcher, aside from being a generous philanthropist, is quite funny and talented

That statement is funnier than anything Ashton has ever done.

As if it was worth watching before.

Don't need a valid reason in much the same way I didn't need a valid reason to watch it before...it is and was absolute gash

If he can afford it, then why the hell not?

I'll never be able to afford such luxury but I'm not going to bash someone that can.

2011-08-14 09:00:08 AM
I'll be in my trailer.

2011-08-14 09:00:44 AM
Those things only cost $2m each?

Hell, that sounds downright reasonable. And no, I'm NOT being sarcastic. Given the level of luxury in there and the difficulty in packaging everything, I was expecting at least a few times that much, if not another order of magnitude.

And for that couple, $2m is not all that much money... sure, nothing to sneeze at, but I doubt they'd really miss it.

So count me in with the "I'm OK with this" crowd. If you can afford it, go for it. I imagine the workers who produce those things enjoy the jobs, and it isn't like that trailer is going to be made in China. That's $2m worth of US jobs. Yay for him if he can afford it.

Class warfare- Hollywood sitcom edition?

Give it a rest subby- The guy was great in that 70s show, is a successful producer, and is a self made multimillionaire. If he wants a big ass trailer, why should anyone care?

2011-08-14 09:04:33 AM
I want one of those and enough money to be able to tell my boss to go to hell.

A valid reason not to watch a TV show:

You don't want to watch it, and you have the ability to change the channel or turn off the set.

A stupid reason not to watch a TV show:

The production company is saving millions in Charlie-Sheen-salary, and you're upset that they are spending a tiny portion of it renting a deluxe mobile home.

2011-08-14 09:29:35 AM
Rich people live in luxury?

This shocks me.

DeaH: The production company is saving millions in Charlie-Sheen-salary

That, and they're actually able to tape shows because the actor wasn't too wasted to bother learning his lines.

You might see that sort of thing on a megamillion dollar feature, but even then...

Not bloody likely on a sitcom.

akula: Those things only cost $2m each?

That was my thought, most new Prevost Motorhomes cost around 1 million and can cost 2 Million, I was expecting 4 or 5 million when I saw the pictures.

I so want to take one of these to Burning Man

Yep- I think I've actually suffered through maybe 2 episodes of this. As unfunny, unoriginal, and parochial as Everybody loves Raymond.

THIS.

I guess it's somehow better if you are spending all your money destroying yourself with hookers and blow... makes you more like most Farkers. Also, you can't have any class if you watch a show with low brow humor, unless it's approved by the Snob Farker Elite Corps.

Oh, and let's not forget, the new show will have the dumb kid from That 70's Show, and we aren't supposed to ever admit that he's earned a place in Hollywood, even after all these years.

Why would you make a point to say that you didn't have cable if you made it clear that you didn't own the television either?

Not trying to be smart, just wondering.

I refuse to limit my entertainment to authors, actors, or musicians that have not had financial success.

That's a one way ticket to I Liked Them Before They Were Popular Syndrome.

GriffXX: I refuse to limit my entertainment to authors, actors, or musicians that have not had financial success.

Same here.

The "YOU DON'T LIKE THEM 'CAUSE THEY HAVE MONEY LOL" argument is weak. I enjoyed Breaking Bad and Seinfeld and a multitude of other shows in which the people involved were/are much wealthier than me.

It would be easier just to get an apartment close by and have a limo drive you there and back. Unless he's trying to con some sweet young ladies on the side without his mom/wife getting suspicious.

Knobbs: My valid reason is "sucked before, why would it be better now?"

Close. I would say 'the only thing that brought it to everybody's attention was Charlie Sheen's insanity, and before that it was regarded as awful and lame, so why bother when it doesn't have its main draw for it?'

The whole fuss around the show wasn't based on everybody suddenly appreciating it, it was to see Sheen rot away on-screen. Now that's all over and the fuss has died, nobody gives a shiat. The show's next big thing will be 'cancelled' with news articles telling us how much we should have cared.

Careful with that one. Two and a Half Men is so hated on Fark that it is close to coming full circle and being hip again. They'll probably wait for Kutcher to get on the show and decide that he's great and the show is great now. Or something. It's always hard to tell sometimes which way the snobs will turn. The only thing I saw coming was that it appears that Christina Hendricks has finally fallen on the Fark hate list after years of being lusted after. I'm guessing Christopher Nolan is next.

Keep waiting. It's not going to happen.

I don't understand why the dislike of something is put under the larger umbrella of "FARK HIVEMIND AT WORK."

Sometimes, a show or a public figure or whatever is polarizing - not surprising, given all the different walks of life. To each his own.

What I'm trying to say here is that I don't base my dislike of a show on what the majority of Farkers think. And what's more, disagreement or a lack of unanimous consensus along these lines isn't a *bad* thing. It keeps the discussions interesting.
