tigerose & others, I've my own suspicions re who subby may be. My prime suspect,who I suspected of the Yahoo! stuff, is Noga Martin who lives in Jerusalem. I already said T'dah rabah which is Fang Q in Hebrew (rang up the Temple my chorus rehearses at to find this out) on the Yahoo!-tagged thread, also above, here. I do hope she'll forgive me for blowing her cover if she is indeed subby. But if she was subby there & not here, then someone still may out him/herself. Someone who lives there is still in prime suspect territory ....

My kitties would never make it in the desert heat, Jerry is tired of the 100+ heat index for the last couple of weeks.

Tom and Flower are just about tired of it as well.

Maynerdkitty & others, very cute but also very wild. There's a family of sand cats at the Cincinnati Zoo; was a small litter about a year ago. Fangs & claws also very sharp. If cuddle you must, do so with extreme caution!

Hunting. :( Some get nabbed for the exotic pet trade, but most are picked off by farmers for threatening their livestock. (Understandable considering how difficult it must be to raise livestock in the arid regions native to the sand cat, but still doesn't seem right.) Hunting of the sand cat is thankfully prohibited by law in several East African and Middle Eastern countries.

Bonus fact: Its Latin name is Felis margarita!

I just looked it up on Wiki. good little article. I love the big ears and tiny faces on these little cats. Still want to cuddle one but I think I'll stick to my own kitties. Jerry came to sit in my lap and even went to check out a guest on the farm, He is so friendly. Tom came up but he wanted to bite so I made him get down.

Hi Caturday friends. Just want to give you an update on the kitten I rescued that you helped me with a couple of Caturdays ago. He's healthy and never walks anywhere in the house... it's either full speed run or fast asleep, there is no in between. I'm enjoying having a kitten in the house again, it's been years since we've had one. I will try to get photos of my entire herd this weekend but for now I'll just give a narrative. We have the old man Merlin who looks remarkably like serious cat. Then there's Morgana, coal black and much happier as an outdoor cat than she was as an indoor cat and yes I spent a fortune on a proper heated shelter for her since winters here get a bit cold. Next is Gweneviere who was rescued because Merlin needed a playmate. She's a tan and black tabby. Finally there is the new guy Galahad who has settled in nicely and is a grey tabby. The house is nicely full of cat hair.

Jerry looks tense and all muscle-y. Did the horses (or one two-headed horse?) just arrive?

I adopted two retired race horses from the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. I tried to post pictures last Monday when they arrived but my power went out. The big kitties know about horses but the kittens have never seen anything like them. Jerry is developing into a handsome young cat. He wanders all over the farm looking for things to attack, except the guineas and the chickens, they attack back!
