This is Buddy with his cast. The vet showed me the XR this am, its a diagnoal Fx and not in line. I'm sorry but why?!?!?!? Do you need to prove your toughness? I'm sure we can find some volunteers who can show you how "tough" you really are!

AlienNarrr!: DesertZephyr: tigerose: Costs extra right? Might ha e been thinking of the Mud Skipper....come to think of it.. Either one, pretty damn cool.

FWIW, I too did a stint in Herpetology and Ichthyology in college... a mud puppy is actually a salamander... and I have held one... the description my professor gave was: :"it feels like a snotty rope"... it did.

And nothing cost EXTRA... but everything certainly comes at a price :D

salamanders are cool - don't see enough of little critters like that here. They get eaten way too quickly by everything else.
Lucky enough when I still lived up on campus if I got tosee the little frogs and turtles and stripey shelled snails, but saw none of those even this year due to the amount of people that moved up there and polluted the stream up there :(
Haven't seen anything like that here by my new place....just racoons, a skunk and spiders hahah

sherpa18: Lar Jorgen: sherpa18: It might interest you to know that we are working on a packaging re-design and are also in negotiations with a spokesperson: He's stonewalling and holding out for more chicken wings. He also insists on 'nip and laser dots in every greenroom on his tour. My chief negotiator is on medical leave... something to do with hushpuppy overdose... or something. Otherwise, we'd have this wrapped up by now.

Hell, just send me the contract and I'll get him to sign it after I get him stoned on 'nip explain it to him. (I'm sure I can get him to lose the 'nip/laser dot clause, but at this point, it seems that the chicken wing requirement might just be non-negotiable because he is a little concerned about the side effects of "goldfish memory").

[i415.photobucket.com image 480x291]

What say I have my people call your people and we can work out a deal...

I think the 'nip and laser dot things are manageable. That's not really a deal breaker. What really puts a crimp in things is his insistence that backstage crew and certain band members refrain from eye contact before the show*.

It would be different if were anyone but Dragon. We'd just get an imitator and be done with it.

If the kitten was fleeing the candle abuse, then it was the intent to harm. And a cat in a panic could easily harm itself. So all blame to the animals that began the whole scene.

Ok, the whole "slap with a fish" thing has completely gone over my head. The fish/name analogies have been really funny, however. If I wish to help someone with healing, it's usually a matter of lighting a candle and mentally sending appropriate healing energy to that person. But...whatever floats your boat. Intention is the main ingredient.

Ummm highly possible stupid new kitten owner question here:

How often do you feed your kittens/cats in a day?

I swear Ben Hurrr is doing the "OMG I AM STARRRRVING to DEATH!!! FEED ME RIGHT MEOW!" at least 4 times today...

I just want to know how to establish a feeding schedual for him and for Gremlin once he arrives so once I'm at work I don't have to worry about them "starving to death" ha ha

/not that I'm super worried about it - look at his pudgieness!

Not a critter, but something I was thinking about after the fools dropped off Guinness..... imagination, I haz one. Lemme show you it....

Check out this article about an animal abuse registry (new window). It's in Oregon too, but it's an older article. I wonder if it ever went any further?

I did a quick search and there are a couple registries out there, but they look as if they're failed attempts by individuals with good intentions. They're either in their infancy or haven't been updated for years. I doubt anyone would really bother looking at them before they adopt out.

It would sure be nice to have a well maintained and respectable national abuser registry. (maybe *that's* my calling in life...)

Once again, you did good micromedic!
Wishing these assholes have the worst trip evar to their new home.

If that's your calling in life, let me know, I'll help you with it.

This is something that needs to be done. It would certainly make life easier for rescues and shelters when we are adopting out animals. People sound great on an application but what are they like in real life? I know someone who used to breed cats and cons other breeders to ship cats worth thousands of dollars to her. Then the cats wind up dead. When someone applies to adopt, I don't know them, I don't know if they were ever mistreating an animal in the past. I do home visits, but sometimes that isn't enough. We need a better way to check out the people who want our cats.

I hope all states eventually have an animal abuse registry. Not only will it save the life of animals, but probably people as well.

HAhahahahhaha! Oh no Biscuit! don't do it!!!!!
/I'm eating something crunchy and Ben Hurrr gave me such a disapproving look and moved under my chair...yeesh! sorry!
//It's funny when I feed him though - he's allll full of love for me then! hahhahaha! and yogurt! why the yogurt?!

Biscuit gets absolutely frantic when I have yogurt. He can't wait and will knock it out of my hand if given the chance.

From everything I've read yogurt is ok for cats and most think it's beneficial. In any case it won't do any harm.

/ He's a real cutie. I am soooo happy for you!

Yogurt is great for cats, as long as they don't have problems digesting milk,
I have two yogurt fanatics too. Every morning when I have yogurt for breakfast, Chessie and Marilyn can hear me go to the fridge and they're right at my feet. I peel the top off the container and they're circling, I give them the lid because it usually has a little yogurt on it. Then I attempt to eat my yogurt, which is impossible because they're pawing at my hand trying to grab the spoon. I have to put a spoonful in a bowl for each of them, then I go eat my yogurt on the porch where they can't get me! Then I give them to cup to lick out the rest.

Spoiled brats!

Marilyn loves Chobani yogurt, it's the only brand I'll eat because I really don't like yogurt but this stuff is like crack.

hahaha you have to hide on the porch every morning!
I'd say they are bratty cats for sure!
I wonder if I can find that brand up here? I had a little yogurt this morning, and Ben Hurrr was all over me. He got one tiny lick and managed to get the rest off my spoon all over the rest of his face. He couldn't understand where it went and why I suddenly had to wash his face haha.
Then he pouted cause I wouldn't share.

/what do you give kittens as treats?
/so feed him once in the morning and then once when I get home from work? leave nothing out for him and Gremlin during the day?

When Kay was a baby, he got fed 3 times a day. (Breakfast time, dinner time, and a bedtime snack). When he stopped growing, that got cut back to twice a day. Now he gets fed before I go to work, and after I get home. The trouble with that of course, is that now he expects to be fed pretty much every time i come home.

Unrelated pic of Kay discovering that the tub floor is sometimes wet
