Brother? Where are you getting that?

If causing your brother stitches by hitting him with a heavy object when you are little get you put in juvi, then my brothers and myself would each have served time. Things happen when you are kids. My mother never openly encourages any of us to fight each other, though. Why, when I was your age, I walk to school in the snow, up hill, both ways. Get of my lawn, you whipper-snapper. Wait, where was I?

Since the term "brother" was used we can all assume the race of the parties involved?

Huh?

Oh. Why would you even think that? Wtf? Call me an evil stereotyper, but I just assumed they were white trash. Why would you automatically assume they weren't?

UM......because subby put "brother" in the headline, yet there was no mention of any relation between the 2 kids. I'm sure if you RTFA you would catch the play on words.

Something about onions on your belt I think. I dunno, I tuned out. Those hypnosis classes we all took to learn to ignore you are very hit and miss on the results.

Hell, I knew what their race was as soon as I saw the address on the local news here. Goddamitsomuch I meant to submit it and forgot....

This happened at 26th and Piatt. Odds are these kids and their mother aren't white trash.

Trash, yes. White trash, most likely not...

What's wrong with teaching your child survival skills?
This will get the kid some street cred, as in "don't fark with him, he be crazy"

During the course of the fight, Nolte said, witnesses told police the 12-year-old's mother urged him to pick up a brick and throw it at the other boy.

So wait... If I'm reading this as written, while the fight was taking place, the witnesses told the police that the kid's mother told the kid to throw the brick?

Well, if the witnesses were there narrating the fight to the police, why didn't the police intervene & simply stop the fight? Were they too busy taking bets?

Why were the witnesses commentating on the fight real-time to the police instead of doing something about it? Was the whole thing on PPV or something?

White trash momma. I hope they throw the brick book at her.

2011-08-10 10:41:54 AM
This reminds me of this one time I was coaching underpriviledged kids. Some kids in the team complained that a player was threatening them, and once I talked to that kid he confessed he was threatening his team mates with a pocket knife. I went to talk to the kid's mother and after telling her what her son did, her answer was "I only told him to use a knife on his team mates because they were taunting him"

These were 10yo kids.

And weren't black.

Yup. White trash whores are the only ones who hook up to make mixed, black trash kids.

No prob. It's just sad kids can't take a simple brick to the head these days.

Hot like a flaming brazier.

I love Charles Addams, Gahan Wilson, and Mark Tatulli. You can Tartulli's Lio for Kindle but it's worth buying the books because even Kindle for PC doesn't do the cartoons justice the way good old paper does.

From Wikipedia

The French have a number of very funny morbid cartoonists and cartoon series. Pierre Tombale is a cute one.

Eh, I've done something similar but not during a fight. My neighbor's kid came over and complained that another boy was not playing nice and wouldn't give him one of the toys they had (his Dad wasn't home and I was outside). I said, "Hit him with a big stick." He was surprised and said, "What?" I replied, "Get a big stick or board and hit him with it. Better yet, find one with a nail in it. That'll teach him." He said, "I don't want to hurt him." I answered, "Then either work it out or don't play with him anymore. Those are your only real options." Now they tend to work out their differences without running to parents for intervention. They weren't actually fighting and I knew he wouldn't really do it so it was a teachable moment. If they had been fighting I would have intervened.

/Yes, I did tell his Dad when he got home. He laughed.

Yeah, subby.

The 12-year old kid threw a brick at an 11-year old boy who lived in the neighborhood, not at his brother.

This^

when i was 7 and my brother was 5 we had an incident where our cousins came to visit during the summer. My brother got mad because we wouldn't play with him so while me and the cousin were on the swingset, he decided to pick up a big ass rock from the driveway and chunk it at my cousin. Well him being 5 his aim was bad and he hit me instead. opened up a big gash in the back of my head. It probably could have used stitches cause there was blood everywhere and I remember feeling really nauseous, however my dad made the call that we couldn't afford the doctor so it was me laying on the couch on my stomach with my head turned kind of sideways so i could still breath and ice pack along with direct pressure. I had a swollen up place on my head for months after that. I do remember parents telling me, "you can't go to sleep son" and i got to the point of being more pissed off i couldn't take a nap than the fact I had gotten beaned in the head.

I forget exactly what it is called, but you see a dissolution of responsibility when crowds of people witness an event. Everyone thinks that someone else will step in, so nobody does. Plus I'd think twice about confronting a woman who tells her kids to throw bricks at each other.

/Smacked my brother in the leg once with a board and freaked out when it stuck to him
//I didn't see the nail :(

...it was a really big brick

Okay, so my brother and I (real brother, twin actually, not brotha) each have three year old kids. They play, they don't play, they fight over toys, whatever. If one pushes the other one down, I just tell that one to push him back - even if it means I'm telling my nephew to push my own son. But never a brick!
