Oh right doesn't media matters have anything better to cover? this is just another example of how petty the reporting style of mediamatters is. Just look how often they have little videos of stories just like this one reporting on foxnews (and the various entertainment shows)

2011-08-03 08:24:42 PM
Seriously? This is the most important news story of the day?

Oh right, it's Fox... this is par for the course.

Also, I'm confused about Fox & Friends... is it a news show? I've always thought of it as one of those crappy morning shows like the View where the hosts jerk each other off with their annoyingly cute personalities, with no real substance, which is why I take slight issue with the Daily Show using their clips as examples of Fox News' retardedness. However, if they do consider themselves an actual news show, with actual journalists...

Yea, its a variety show on a news channel. The problem is that it runs for an entire 3 HOURS a day for the entire morning 6am to 9am every weekday morning providing a mix of news and entertainment similar to your radio morning shows.

It's like Morning Joe on MSNBC, except the hosts typically don't disagree with each other unless it's over how much MORE outraged one is over the other. They cover news stories and then talk about them.

It's a disputed fact!

Yeah, sorry but when morons dispute something it doesn't hold much weight in the real world.

So...Falwell was worried about Tinky-Winky the Teletubby for promoting the gay agenda;
Dan Quayle feared Murphy Brown sent the wrong message about unmarried moms;
now Faux News is attacking Spongebob Squarepants for telling kids about global climate change.

What do all these things have in common?

IF Spongebob = Al Gore
Then
Plankton = Tea Party, thinks he is smarter than he is (and everyone else) and wants to rule the world.
Mr Krabs = Republicans, so cheap he fixes up the infrastructure of the Krusty Krab with toothpaste, goes to outrageous lengths to trying and get a penny from his employee.
Squidward = Feels he is better than everyone else and a true artist who is not appreciated so Victoria Jackson?
Patrick = Idiot who tells untruths to spongebob and causes harm by spreading misinformation so Breitbart or Glen Beck
Mrs Puff = Put upon teacher who doesn't give up on her students, so Minnesota teacher
Sandy the squirrel = intelligent and kick ass (she knows karate) so Nancy Pelosi?

/Yes I watch Spongebob wasn't my fark handle enough

Yea well I dispute the notion that people in the Southern Hemisphere are held to earth by 'gravity' rather than severe adhesive buildup on their feet. I demand that every mention of this silly 'gravity' theory be supplemented by the TRUTH.

Is it wrong that I'm a 25-year-old man who still enjoys SpongeBob from time to time?

Frankly, I think that's far less embarrassing than someone admitting to believing Fox News.

Squidward is awesome and misunderstood (not to mention "fabulous"). How dare you compare him to an airhead?

Then

Ooh, ooh, I wanna play!

Plankton = John Boehner (his role is typically to offer comic relief in his failure to get anything done or find any support, evoking pity until you remember it's his fault he's in that position)
Mr. Krabs = Paul Ryan (over-the-top fan of cost-cutting to an incredible degree, but somehow manages to stick around)
Squidward = John McCain (not nearly as talented or significant as he'd like to believe, but still maintains frustrated competence when put in the right position)
Patrick = Joe Biden (has actually been important in the occasional plotline, but is mostly known for saying ill-informed things)
Mrs. Puff = Barack Obama (constantly gets brought down by other people's incompetence and/or downright stupidity)
Sandy = Bill Clinton (rural background, memetic badassery, tendency to have main characteristics exaggerated for the sake of bad comedy)

And if the Tea Party is represented by anyone, it's the guy in the background who always yells "My leg!" because all they do is loudly complain, but they're still recognized for just how loud they are.

Squidward is misunderstood but his art is not exactly awesome, and I can sympathise with someone is who wants more and is stuck in a soul killing job.
I did feel bad for comparing Squidward to Victoria, hence the question mark.
Upon farther reflection I will change to
Squidward = a poor soul who wants more out of life but has been beaten down by soul crushing work for an unthankfull tyrant of a boss and seeks refuge in snark and his own world, so that makes him a Farker

2011-08-03 09:29:52 PM
Al Gore = Spongebob
Barack Obama = Dr. Hibbert
Mitch McConnell = Michaelangelo
Sarah Palin = kindergarten stick-figure drawing

/I lack the patience to make an image macro of this.

Very good.
In yours the Tea Party could also be Plankton's relatives who he was going to use to steal the secret formula and then they would not get anything

Dr Hibbert? He was always showing up at the Republican meetings, at least you didn't make Obama Lionel Hutch.

Gretchen Carlson: Anyway now maybe that will be a good thing because SpongeBob is talking a lot about global warming, and he's only looking at it from one point of view. [Fox News, Fox & Friends, 8/3/11]

Was I the only one who laughed at this? SpongeBob-One Point of View...

I love the final guy citing how terrible our education system is for a reason to look down on this... it's just so perfect. Citing our failing education system based on international standards from countries that do accept man-made climate change, (not to mention evolution) to criticize a climate change themed cartoon is a beautifully wrong piece of art.

2011-08-03 09:55:04 PM
Okay, we'll include an argument that global warming isn't real in SpongeBob if you include the argument that God isn't real the next bit of Tommy Nelson kids propaganda.

Deal?

it's Spongebob Squarepants, it's farking SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! What kind of sad poor excuse of a news origination can look at Spongbob for topical political commentary. The FCC should revoke their licenses on grounds of pure stupidity.

You know what? If conservatives and right-wingers could muster up some amount of creativity and a desire to entertain children without shoving Jesus into the equation then maybe they wouldn't find popular entertainment so removed from their views...

oh i never saw that on foxnews, and there's nothing to say to that. But spongebob, why is media matters even reporting on what fox says spongebob is doing, liberals are completely missing the point this is why the MSM is in the condition it is in. Don't even get me started with that they've taken the job away from a white spider man and given it to a mixed race spiderman, captain america wasn't enough for them!

Eh fark it. So RW why dont you get the creators of hot wheels cartoons to do some big oil spots? Or why not use the ninja turtles as evidence improper disposal can lead to awesomeness and pizza cravings?

Ooo, how about you show the most up to date technology the oil companies have to deal with an oil spill, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS? So many possibilities, so many children to teach other "DISPUTED FACTS"

/Waits for the Special Agent Oso episode where Oso is caught masturbating to pr0n after a show where he solves a problem with family values and decries obscenities.

Spongebob and Spiderman. Fictional characters seem to drive FOX crazy.

Steve Doocy: The Department of Education giving kids free books about SpongeBob. Seems like a good idea right? Well some parents don't think so. They say the books are being used to push an over-the-top green agenda regarding global warming. [Fox News, Fox & Friends, 8/3/11]

Coming up next on Fox and Friends, Jesus Camp. Why its good for your kids and you, and the discounts they're offering to allow new members access, after the break.
