List fails without second South Park entry:

Also, does the online MMORPG "The World" from .hack count as a fictional video game? Cause it should and it was awesome yet not really real.

Came for #10 and #3. Had forgotten about #1, not very memorable. Never heard of the rest, I'm not a Simpsons watcher.

Actually, one of those old 80's movies, Porkys or something of similar style, featured a coin-op game where the goal was to get laid.. they were careful not to show what was on screen. They were using joystick and buttons to get around the girl's reasons for saying no.

Step 1: Find YouTube links.
Step 2: Write one sentence about each video.
Step 3: Write "Top X of All Y" at top of the page.
Step 4: Profit?

And since videos are blocked for me at work, it left a LOT of blank screen space.

List fails without "The Game" from "Ender's Game". List fails without ANY mention of holodeck stuff. List fails for lack of ANYTHING from Tron. List fails, and fails hard.

I'll forgive the lack of mention of the VR-POV games from "Rainbow's End", as that's pretty obscure.

Also, list fails for no mention of this under the "global thermonuclear war" entry. TBH, it shouldn't even be on there, because it DID get made. Not that the "author" could be bothered to do any research or anything.

I know it's a long shot without video, but I would have liked to have seen Lucky Wander Boy. I have nightmares about playing that game.

I did play the demo of that, years ago.

Yeah, the episode with Wil Wheaton and Ashley Judd? Not obscure at all.

Actually, "The World" does exist through the .hack games and, if I remember reading something a few years ago, a possible MMORPG thats only in Japan right now. So that game does exist. Though its a game with in a game.

But yes, the South Park version of Tiger Woods PGA 11 needs to be on there.

None of those are very good.

Ender's "Game" is just laser tag. Sure, it's played in zero g, but it's still just laser tag.

The holodeck isn't a game. When Professor Molearity is running around trying to rape Jean Luc Picard, it's deadly serious.

Tron sucked when it first came out, it sucked in the remake, and it will continue to do so. Also, they made a Tron game so it's not fictional at all.

I was going to get nitpicky and say there were three games in enders game.
...then I realized "The game" was the only video game, tho it was more of a test.

/playing a game shouldn't be psychologically damaging.
/granted, that's splitting hairs.

I think he was referring to the other game in "Ender's Game." The one that has to do with the ending of the book.

How about the video games in Ronnie James Dio's Last in Line video? Those were pretty cool, a line of kids chained to 80s style coin machines that torture them when they fail.
I bet there's a market for that today.

That's what I was referring to. The game is a seeming pointless plot device until the end of the book.
