Yea.

When they gonna help the rest of us, huh?

Durr, I'm gonna be rich once my bootstrappy line of Dale Earnheart tri-cornered hats take off. Then I'll be glad the rich don't get taxed as much. Durrr

Good job government, way to kick the can down the road. Keep spending that money and keep patting yourselves on the back.

Dumbass drunken spending enablers. I hope everybody who supports this gets to participate in the coming global depression.

I think I paid about 10% in taxes last year. I have good people.

If they'd have cut into job creators' pockets and taken more money for their spending binge the recession would just get worse. Job creators can't create jobs if you're taking their money so some bum without a job can leech off the medical system or get his red bull with food stamps.

On top of that, you're penalizing people who actually go out and work and succeed. I don't want to have to pay higher taxes just because my income increased. What's the point in making more money if the government's just going to take it and give it to welfare slugs anyway?

2011-08-02 02:13:52 PM
I predict mass change in names in the 2012 election but I bet party percentages don't change much.

I'm so disappointed and disgusted with this deal I almost can't stand it. The only thing that makes any sense is that Obama knew that it was take this deal or the Republicans would gladly wreck the country. How can you rationally deal with a party that is willing to cause such grevious harm to the American people?

2011-08-02 02:14:32 PM
No no no no no, they're JOB creators. Not "rich". Remember?

2011-08-02 02:15:11 PM
If some of you would have paid more attention to Obama's habits of inappropriate capitulation (See: telecom immunity) maybe we'd have elected someone better to begin with.

I think if I was either a new graduate joining the workforce, or a retiree approaching 65, I would be revolting right now.

To get to the $2.1 trillion dollar cut, Obama's plan effectively moves the Medicare age up to 79 for those retiring in ten years or more. It also dissolves the Craft resolution, meaning that people currently receiving social security will see their payments reduced by 25-45% depending on income level. Obama basically sold out the senior citizens to get reelected.

As for new graduates, Obama's plan will make it nearly impossible for businesses to hire anyone for the next ten to twelve years. Hiring managers will shift their focus to middle aged workers with more experience and more at risk, meaning they'll work for cheaper to keep their families afloat.

Thankfully, Obama has only two middle fingers, waving one at our hollowed past, and the other at our budding future.

I, for one, plan to spend my way out of debt.

I guess there's a possibility the President will, right before signing it, say, "You know what? Fark all of you. VETO." *STAMP* "Either override it or send me a new bill raising the limit with no conditions, you bunch of hypocritical shiats".

Small possibility, but a man has to have dreams.

monoski: Bush tax cuts help job creators

You didn't finish the sentence.

Bush tax cuts help job creators build huge piles of cash that just sit there instead of getting used to buy something, hire someone, develop new products, or pretty much do anything useful for the economy.

Want to know why there is no recovery? Because the wealthy and corporations are hoarding the liquidity and preventing a recovery. Taxes encourage development because putting your money to work allows your net worth to increase at rates higher than inflaction.

Yes, our government is spending more of our money. I am so glad that they are planning on spending more, and its literally not a cut into anything when its based off of projected future baseline spending.

degreeless: I, for one, plan to spend my way out of debt.

That's because you're a dumbass. Clearly the smart way you get out of debt is to refuse every offer of a raise and live in a box on a street corner eating raw ramen noodles and cat food.

/ because I are smart republican

Like I said in the speech thread, work programs. I want a damn job already, I want my husband to make a decent wage in his job, and I want to get off of food stamps. The private sector is NOT doing it. Divert social welfare funds to work programs.

Are you planning on your income increasing upwards of $500,000 a year? How nice for you! Maybe you can afford a totalfark by Christmas!

Is anyone surprised? Does anyone honestly still believe that politicians are not owned outright by the Wealthy, Big Business, and Wall Street?

Is anyone still under the impression that the plutocracy cares about you?

So much of this debt ceiling debate has involved actions the government needs to keep the investors happy. But aren't many of these the same investors the government bailed out? Doesn't take much to see whi is running the government.
