Reporters write stories about scientific articles, not the scientific articles. The link from International Business Times was written about a scientific article. Columnists write garbage about things they don't understand to sensationalize their pre-formed conclusions. That's how you can tell the difference between news and opinion. Opinion pieces are charged with emotion and, especially in anti-intellectual pieces, name calling.
