Oh yaa,...another looney left front page Fark thread...

Both sides are equally stupid and stubborn....pulling for one side is just stupid and shows how America has been split.

So if your here to support one side...well..yours is just as guilty.

The Dems,..in a a few years,..will have a splinter group...like Tea party too......mark my words.

Personally,..I blame Nixon/Kissinger for going to China in the first place....but every president afterwards sold us out as well.
Hence the deepshiat debt, and no jobs......China is an assemble line for cheap human labor.
How do you compete?.....Tariffs,...and they should NEVER have been allowed in the WTO.....with a human rights record like that.

Oh the webs the farkers on capitol hill have weaved,...let the jobs leave, keep printing money, playing World policeman has almost knocked us over......almost.

Something is gonna change,...soon....it must.

Goddamn

Obama: We all have to sacrifice, with massive spending cuts and increased revenue with repeal of tax cuts on the top 2%.

Boehner: OBAMA DOES NOT WANT TO CUT ANYTHING/ JOB KILLER!

I do not get it anymore......

2011-07-25 09:24:27 PM
Damn, I never thought of Reid as a chess kind of guy.

2.7 Tril over 10 years.

Don't think so Harry.

Bad reporting partisan jackass journalist.

2011-07-25 09:24:53 PM
Boehner, you and your ilk are bordering on treason.

2011-07-25 09:25:04 PM
I don't see how he offered a compelling alternative. He talked about cutting spending. Obama talked about cutting spending. It's just that Obama offered a little bit of class warfare in addition to that. The question is, will the average American cry "SOCIALISM!" to that.

2011-07-25 09:25:19 PM
And the low income Republicans will eat that shiat up. They wont understand how farked they will be by the spending cuts, they just know Obama's plan is wrong, no matter how much better it is for them.

2011-07-25 09:25:49 PM
What's incredible is that anyone would consider the Reid plan anything but a pure win for Republicans. It's what they were asking for: massive cuts in spending (sure to hurt the economy, making Obama's re-election chances much slimmer), and no tax increases.

2011-07-25 09:26:06 PM
Boehner's speech was basically "A lot of people are unemployed. So we're going to cut a lot of the spending that's helping their family out during this time."

2011-07-25 09:26:23 PM
I like how Boehner claims that Obama doesn't want to do exactly what he just claimed to want to do 20 minutes earlier.

I mean, at some point, you have to stop outright lying because people will stop believing you......right?

It's like Obama and Boehner aren't even operating in the same dimension. How are the American people supposed to know what the actual truth of the matter is, without a functioning journalistic system? We are so screwed.

Imperialism: Boehner's speech was basically "A lot of people are unemployed. So we're going to cut a lot of the spending that's helping their family out during this time."

Those people are used to being shat on, so a little more won't hurt. What we cannot do is anger our Job Creators. Our life for them.

Lando Lincoln: It's like Obama and Boehner aren't even operating in the same dimension. How are the American people supposed to know what the actual truth of the matter is, without a functioning journalistic system? We are so screwed.

This is one of the times where acting like both parties have a legitimate position in order to not be accused of bias is a terrible journalistic policy

Threat? Hilter created millions of American jobs. Single handily ended the great depression.

GORDON: certain political persuasion has. "The rich" are still paying a vast majority of all tax money taken by the federal government.

That is going to happen no matter what tax plan you use...well, almost all (FairTax). The thing, of course, is, yet again, monetary scale. As I keep hammering at, $5,000 is more to someone making $25,000 than $50,000 is to someone making $250,000, even though that's the same percentage of what they make, and even though $50,000 is twice what the first someone makes. Someone #2 still makes in one year what Someone #1 makes in ten. That's why we have a progressive tax structure in the first place. People will think Someone #2 would get penalized if he was taxed at a higher rate than Someone #1, but you have to remember two things:

1. That money won't be taxed again (well, not through income taxes).
2. If both had the same tax rate, Someone #2 would still have the advantage even if he made no more money after that first year because, even though over 10 years they'd make the same amount of money, Someone #2 would have all of that money at a time when it has the greatest purchasing power That's really what a progressive tax does: tax time.

I'm cool with them, but I want there to be a franchise tag like the NFL. There does need to be a few politicians who stick around and know how everything works. If we were having to teach the system over and over it would only hurt any progress that the new Congress members could make.

It doesn't have to be many, maybe like 2 Senators and 10 Representatives for anyone that has a 20% presence. For anything less then you can have 1 and 5.

GORDON: "The rich" are still paying a vast majority of all tax money taken by the federal government.

And they also take in the vast majority of income, and they have the vast majority of assets that need to be protected by the government.

Kinda disappointed in Boehner. I was prepared to take a drink every time he said "job creators".

2011-07-25 09:32:53 PM
The problem with this Reid plan is that the cuts are primarily smoke-and-mirrors. His cuts in Iraq and Afghanistan are based on surge spending levels, which are already gone. His cuts in interest payments are based on spending that wound down from that already. When you break it down, less than half of his supposed cuts are real and even those are nebulous "cuts" that supposedly occur after he's gone, and we all know that's never gonna happen.

Grownups have to live within a budget. This government hasn't passed a budget in 2 years. I don't have much hope that they'll quit posturing now and start acting like grownups.

The markets will eventually stop the US government spending, though. It's just gonna be uglier when it happens because we don't have leaders who will grow up and do it proactively.

It seems that the internet's drawback is fully realized: Many people only hear what they want to hear: Fox News, Daily Kos, DU, RedState, etc. cater to their needs, and the other side is evil. And even when someone is proven wrong, like here on Fark, they don't see it and don't take it to heart. Heck, I, the hypocrite that I am, have probably had that happen to me at least a dozen times here...and now it seems that the Republican party is banking on the blinders people are voluntarily putting on themselves.

I have a better plan. Never spend more than you take in. Unless you are at war. Never go to war unless you are attacked. Always win war quickly and leave as soon as you have won with that nation in ruin.

6thFairway: The markets will eventually stop the US government spending, though.

Really? The markets who have egged this spending on, and now almost rely on it, are going to kill the cash cow? Look at the housing market debacle and tell me that again with a straight face.

The tea party fringe have been buying up gold for years.
Glen Beck and others like him have been pushing it on their AM radio talk shows for a decade; that is when they are not raping and murdering young girls.
The price of gold climbs when there is uncertainty about the US economy.
This debt ceiling charade is a ploy to increase the price of gold, and make the tea baggers a ton of profit in the process!
Kill social security by bankrupting the nation then cash in on your gold investment.
They are gunning for another Great Depression. This is what Republicans want for America.
This depression will proivide a big pool of sub-minimum wage American labor and drive out the illegal aliens at the same time.
It is all part of their plan, and it is happening in slow motion right before our eyes.

Naw hold there a minute. That's not real savings. That's liberal savings. We don't need none of that savings.

Sergio_Van_Lukenstein: You know, I hate corporations and wealthy people as must as the next liberal, but I don't care about making them pay more taxes. What will really fix the economy is if they pay higher wages to their workers. (Which will generate more taxes anyway!) How about that?

I'm a Liberal and I don't hate corporations or rich people. I bet if you asked Liberals, most of them would agree. Liberals hating corporations and the rich is a myth.

As someone pointed out earlier in the thread. Boehner's speech consisted of him saying that Obama did not want to do something that Obama himself said he wanted to do 5 minutes earlier. And you know that someone listened to both of those speeches with a smug grin, whooping and yelling "You git 'im" without being able to comprehend the logical disconnect
