Tatsuma: Apologize for what?

The MO was consistent with Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda has threatened Norway for a decade now, and a terroist group first claimed responsibility.

That was the general consensus of the thread, why single me out over this?

I have no reason to apologize, nor are there reasons to call me out on this.

You're getting called out because of how outspoken you often are about terrorism and Islam, and quite frankly, it's always a hoot when outspoken people turn out to be wrong.

Not that anyone here will know for sure for some time until a proper investigation is done...

You're right, though, the laughter really needs to be focused on the guys who straight away jumped right to the MOOSLIM conclusion, like:

Teknowaffle: It is going to be a radical Islamic group plain and simple.

I find it horrifying that the evil the Nazis started so many decades ago keeps continuing to take so many lives and corrupts some to complete evil. You would have hoped we could have all learned better by now.

if it was one guy on the island killing 80, we have a new record for kills a murder spree, previous best looks like 56 set back in 1982. Beat out a bunch of serial killers too.

OK, this was obviously an Islamic plot. Stay with me here for this one:

1. Get some blonde haired, blue eyed dope to act as a red herring,
2. Get him to post confusing rants about the evils of multi-culturalism,
3. Load him up with bombs and weapons and get him to slaughter innocent children
4. See the opponents of multiculturalism marginalised politically,
5. See Norway become a more tolerant society, and more willing to take in people of different creeds,
6. Use the liberalisation of immigration laws to slip in Jihadists into Europe,
7. JIHAD!

It's so obvious. Wake up sheeple.

2011-07-22 11:39:25 PM
First thing I thought was that it was a Islamist attack. That was the logical conclusion. This guy obviously has some deep issues. Does it make it better that it was a homegrown terrorist versus an international one?

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Without any facts or information, one's left with only prejudice upon which to base conclusions.

If you want a real laugh head on over to Freeperland, and look at the first couple of threads. They're falling all over themselves, breathlessly hoping, wishing, that "it's the muzzies". Then, when someone posted an article that reported that the suspect was a blond haired, blue eyed "conservative Christian", they went apeshiat. Honestly, I thought the Internet was about to explode while reading it.

Hilarious.

Naked bigotry is breathtaking.

Children don't act like us adults in a crisis situation. They run and do things like try and swim away and hide "up" trees. Those of us that are older and jaded would have rushed the guy...... But we were not there. Children were. They still believe in fairy tale endings and winning at hide and seek...

An adult with a gun and lots of ammo, surrounded by scared kids is going to kill a lot of children. It makes me sick to my stomach to think a guy planned this out. A plan that targeted kids. A slow and miserable death full of pain and suffering is what this sick bastard deserves......

If a predominant amount of a certain type of action are perpetrated by the same people, then yes, it can be considered a logical conclusion to consider that group an initial suspect.

If someone found a black man hanging in the 60's you wouldn't just assume it was the work of some isolated nutbag, you would look first at the most obvious solution....that it was Al Queda.

Running away from a man firing a sub-machine gun is not a "childish" reaction.

The "older, jaded" people you're thinking of are Jack Bauer and Bruce Willis. The real world is not Die Hard. Pretending to be an immortal superhero is the childish reaction.

Thanks for your insight but i have been in combat and have been shot at. Have you? I never once said that things were reacted to in a childish manner. I did say that children reacted the way children do. Your overreaction and lack of understanding betray your simplistic mind. Your leap to Die Hard and its ilk speak to your misunderstanding of what happens in a crisis situation and your dependance on Hollywood for a hero model.

Trying to pretend that a shoot out at a campsite has anything whatsoever in common with trained soldiers in a warzone is the blatant dumbassery.

"Running away" is not a thing a child does when people are being gunned down en masse, It's something at any level-headed human being would do. It's what 99% of off-duty soldiers would do. The other 1% is now in the morgue (or apparently on the internet, masturbating over his glory days).

fark you. Not Fark you but fark you. As much as the people you marginalize want it to be a "muzzie" you equally would love it to be a "fundy" so you could roll over on your back and piss yourself that you are "enlightened" and the rest of the unwashed are beneath you. You are as much the problem as the Westboro Baptist Church is. Both of you so want to be "it". I hate you both. Notice the full on forensic description of blue eyes, nordic features and blonde hair. Luckily it wasn't a "flash mob" otherwise we would have no description or leads.

Naked stupidity is not really breathtaking but it is pretty common.

Norway actually has pretty sensible gun licensing laws, a very low gun crime rate (bar today).

This was a children and teenagers summer camp. Bar a few weapons in storage if there was shooting as an activity, OF COURSE it should have been gun free.

US guns nuts are truly insane.

I suppose it would be too much for the Americans in this thread to remember that other countries are not the same as them and not everything is a battle between 'gun-stealing communists' and 'god-buggering fascists'?

It's just early morning in Europe so nothing new won't develop for a few hours at least. But CNN did ok (I stress the word ok) with the coverage of this. The other two didn't even recognize the story existed.

Explain to me why people wouldn't think this wasn't an attack Islamic Fundamentalist. It's not racism (you should look that word up, btw), it a logical conclusion to reach based on the state of the world today. It's awful no matter who performs the act.

I'm looking for a link to the numbers on this. I found a couple of links on wikipedia that would maybe support this but there those links take you to a error page.

Please get me those stats. Also compare the actual damage done by those groups VS. the Madrid bombings?

And how do you count Chechnya?
