I watched a movie and two documentaries.

/shrugs shoulders

How quaint. They flipped the logo to show that it was down.

2011-07-17 11:39:09 PM
I've been watching netflix streaming all day since about 8:00 this morning without problems.

2011-07-17 11:39:53 PM
I'm watching netflix right now.

2011-07-17 11:43:55 PM
Its out on my xbox but not on my MBP. Weird.

2011-07-17 11:46:13 PM
I watched a movie about 6 hours ago with no issues.

2011-07-17 11:59:48 PM
I've spent most of the day listening to A Feast for Crows, from audible.

2011-07-18 12:12:57 AM
Doesn't work on my Sony bluray player (error 300), but it is playing on my Mac Mini.

2011-07-18 12:17:31 AM
I watched content on Netflix from around 9:30 a.m. until around 12:20 p.m. and it was working fine. Started watching a little over an hour ago (around 8 p.m.) when I got home from the birthday party I was attending. If there was an outage, it was while I wasn't home.

They use different codecs and drm schemes, hence lots of different stuff going on.

It's been out for about 8 hours here. After a few hours of trying intermittently I was finally able to reach their customer service (and WHY again is it that there's no online feedback option?) and complain.

Netflix has been down about 40% of the time I've tried to use it lately. I am negatively impressed.

What being down may look like.

Those f*cking f*ckbags are too busy counting their money from the price hike to keep their servers alive. F*cking wankers.

2011-07-18 01:01:25 AM
It's was down most of the day. Came back about 9:30 P.M.

I would assume you people saying you were watching it fine were watching it on your computer. When they go down like this, it is the boxes that stop working. Computer still streams fine.

2011-07-18 01:05:11 AM
Damn it! So this is why I couldn't connect. And they just released a new season of Dog the Bounty Hunter... damn it, I need my Dog!

2011-07-18 01:08:29 AM
Get the pitchforks and torches, we're taking those biatches down!

/JK, when I've had any problems streaming they always gave me a credit on my bill for a couple bucks.

2011-07-18 01:09:48 AM
I can watch the stuff already queued but I can't search for anything.

Somebody already did that in revenge for the price hike.

My netflix cut out around 6pm right after I watched The Fighter. I wished it had cut out 2 hours earlier. However, just about then PSN came back up after being out all week. Again, if only 2 hours earlier.

I can't take any comment seriously that doesn't use at least six "f*cks," asterisks included (because that does mean it's more serious than the standard usage). Sorry.

Been working for me. Just watched Ip Man 2. Which is a fantastic movie. I recommend it to all.

2011-07-18 01:43:43 AM
I'm on my third episode of "Sports Night" in a row. No problems here.

I'm still hoping that I'll get a credit this month because there was an outage.

Uh, guys, they're in the process of swapping out CDNs. This is probably going to take a bit to complete. Do we think a change that massive would go off without a hitch?

/bummer timing though

If they would use something more reliable than Canadians, they wouldn't have to swap them out.

HTML5 testing I bet. Or DRM once again farking up the Internet.

/HTML5 shall be nice for Linux users.

I really don't see this hitting Netflix that hard.

People will cry and moan and whine, and then not bother to cancel the subscription because what are they going to do, go to the video store when they want to watch something new?

People are lazy, and Netflix loves that. Switch to a stream-only plan and pirate everything else you can't wait to see.

No, they're switching their CDN from Akamai to Level 3. Twice the bandwidth and storage at half the cost for them while they jack your rates.

HTML5 doesn't carry the security they'd prefer so don't bet on it any time in this lifetime.

A streaming video service has a couple of glitches on a Sunday. That is fascinating news! Thanks for greenlighting this.

2011-07-18 02:16:43 AM
Sorry are service sucks and we don't have much quality content, is it still cool if we charge you more?

2011-07-18 02:19:30 AM
They should have a frame of Makers Mark spilled on their servers.

2011-07-18 02:31:00 AM
Glad this was a widespread problem and not just me. I have a box from Sony ready to send back my PS3 since it didn't do netflix without hanging so bad you had to pull the power cord. Have been trying a straight-to-router solution without the hub and that hadn't failed yet. Phew.

Cable has had no problem repeating the same movies over and over all day. Well except for the digital pixelation.

Where?

2011-07-18 03:18:46 AM
Is that why Arrested Development is no longer available for streaming? They had 53 episodes yesterday and I was working my way through them.

I still see it in my instant queue. However, they did remove Veronica Mars from streaming while I was in the middle of enjoying Kristen Bell being as cute as a button. Bastards.

I just finished the first Blackadder series and started on the second.

What outage?

My account is on hold right now but from now on I think the way to do it is sign up for a month, watch the 6 or 7 decent shows/movies they have. Put it on hold for 4 months, then check out the 6 or 7 decent new ones they managed to get in that time.

TFA: "An error (500 Internal Server Error) has occured in response to this request."

So, I'm getting a kick...

/Came here to say that raising rates will fix that
//Fark Netflix; every company that persists in using pop-up ads is a company I don't give business to
