My friend's step dad was at the drive through at the local Wendys here.....and when he had to reach into his front pocket to grab change....he stepped on what he thought was the brake pedal so he could sort of boost his waist up and make his pocket more accessible....only he hit the gas and took out part of a wall and drove right into the glass enclosed dining area. Luckily no one was sitting there, i guess i find it humorous cause we always hated the guy

Brazillians, what a nutty bunch..

This happened to some old lady at a Damon's in my town. She was in her car out front and went into reverse instead of forward, and she backed onto one of those little garden island thingies with the mulch and trees and stuff. So she sat there with the pedal floored in reverse, stuck on the curb of the island for a couple of minutes until something started smoking. Then someone was finally like "WTF you doing lady?! It's in reverse!"

We should never have given women the right to drive or vote... The should be barefoot and pregnant serving our meals on time and servicing us when ever we want...sheesh

Yeah, women are such terrible drivers...that's why our insurance rates are lower than men's :P

Why do you assume that the car was automatic? i havnt seen the gearstick on a civic but i have seen them where the only difference between first and reverse is lifting the stick as you pass the gate at that end

If the inhibitor stopping you from going straight into reverse failed it would actually be quite easy to get the wrong gear. Fortunatly i have a normal car and reverse is under 5th, i have to lift a ring under the ball on the top of the stick to get into reverse
