FuturePastNow: And the best shows they have still suck out loud.

No they don't.

In before someone mentions the show which is called Firefly and was the worst show that was ever aired on the television channels.

In before someone threadshiats about people liking Firefl...

...damn.

Remember Friday nights on Sci-Fi. That was a good night, especially Farscape followed by Lexx.

Sci-Fi.

It will always be the Sci-Fi channel.

Schadenfreude ist die schoenste Freude: Sci-Fi.

It will always be the Sci-Fi channel.

I completly disagree, the Sci-Fi channel had a good mixture of new programs and classic science fiction. The SyFy channel has reality shows, wrestling and cheap, poorly made movies of the week with scripts that may have been written by drunk four year olds.

Face It, the Sci-Fi channel is dead.

True.

Too bad they don't have a name for the current channel.

Eureka, Warehouse 13, and Haven keep me coming back, but yeah, it's been on life support for years.

2011-07-09 03:18:47 PM
Yah totally agree the only thing they have that I watch is Warehouse 13 and Haven. They keep me coming back every season. I miss the channel when it was still Scifi.

It's pronounced SCI-FI!

/Will watch W13 & Eureka, don't give a crap about Heroes 2.0

2011-07-09 03:30:56 PM
I might get into Warehouse 13 if it lasts a few more seasons.

I wish I never started SGU. Now I'm just disappointed.

2011-07-09 03:31:26 PM
I really got in to Eureka this winter when it went up on Netflix so I'm really looking forward to it coming back.

2011-07-09 03:39:33 PM
When I read the headline I figured it was W13 and Eureka. Those are about the only 2 sci-fi shows they have.

I hope they make Sheriff Carter smart again like he used to be instead of the bumbling idiot he has been for the past season or two.

SyFy's Monday lineup sucks balls. "Eureka"? It's insulting to truly intelligent people that this, honestly, is supposed to be what the best & brightest can come up with given the resources. "Warehouse 13"? Saw that show when it was called "Friday the 13th: The Series", and it still doesn't meet muster. "Alphas"? Really? Haven't we already seen that show repeatedly?

In SyFy's entire lineup, "Haven" is about the only tolerable show there, with "Warehouse 13" close (but not quite) in the ballpark. The rest? A waste of time.

Seriously, I'm spending my time on BBC America for my SF fix. Why waste it on a channel NBC Universal is determined to drive into the ground?

I was happy they ran the Twilight Zone marathon over 4th of July weekend. That was great!

This show is a mediocre copy of an actual, terrific show on BBC America called, oddly enough, Being Human.

If you're going to troll, at least try something original - if only because SyFy can't.

It's OK, but the UK original is just that - original. The American version is a knock-off.

I like how you call people nerds and losers, then go on to praise a half-assed Twilight-meets-Capser show.

So, I'l give you a 6/10. Needs more CAPS LOCK, and maybe a few obvious speling erors, but kudos to the not getting laid part whilst posting a pic of a naked dude holding his junk.

I don't find that to be the case at all. It's interesting to watch the American version avoid the pit-falls the UK version set up for itself (like the Box Tunnel Massacre).

that's a bit sad...

I watch Haven, but I'm really not sure why. It's pretty much a very low budget X-Files.

syfy channel is a waste of space. There is nothing redeemable on that channel.

and Fireflly was one of the best shows ever.

Bring back MST3k!

2011-07-09 08:01:00 PM
somebody needs to buy them a copy of "the years best scifi" in paperback, so they know what scifi is.

So is Alphas a sequel to Misfits of Science, or a reboot?

British version is better, plus they did it first.

2011-07-09 08:36:11 PM
Hmmm. I could never get into Warehouse 13, but I will definitely be watching for Eureka and checking out Alphas, crossing my fingers they don't fark it up. I like the American version of Being Human, it has a few emotional missteps but still over all good.

Still though, I wish they had learned a lesson from BSG. Put effort into the writing, use actors that can act, do something that makes the show truly INTERESTING viewing instead of filler and SUPRAIS people will tune in and watch.

2011-07-09 08:45:40 PM
Though I should add, their promoting it as 'Powerful Mondays' is just stupid. At least call it Mega Mondays or something. Powerful Mondays does not roll off the tongue and doesn't really even make sense.

Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: And if they didn't cancel Mystery Science Theater 3000, I might have been compelled to give a damn.

As farking stupid as that was, it gave way to "Rifftraxx", which is better because they riff on new movies.

Of course the "SyFy" network never knew that would happen and I don't think that they are getting a cut of Rifftrax or Cinema Titanic's profits.

They just decided to cancel a popular show that probably cost $37.95 per episode to produce in favor of well oiled guys rolling around on each other and a collection of douchebags pretending to hear ghosts in night vision. Oh and really horrible creature movies with CGI that would have gotten the guys from 1993's Jurassic Park black balled from the industry.

Because I used to be a big fan of the Sci Fi Channel, and what NBC did to it still breaks my nerdy little heart.
