Subby, it is no more asinine than a funeral for a human.

Either every instance of throwing a corpse into the ground and erecting a monument to it is stupid, or none are.

On top of that, Human funerals cost way more than funerals for pets.

And that's another reason funerals are a bad idea... cremated remains can't come back as zombies!

I've had to bury a parakeet, a dog, and 2 cats. Only had to pay for a few bullets. Dug all the graves myself. My niece was upset about her cats. I didn't dig very deep for one of them and a wild animal kept uncovering it.

No, I think the subby has it right. In the USA we've elevated the role of a pet way too high. I love pets, don't get me wrong, but when you start treating a pet like a child you've farked up.

That could be true but kids will always outrank pets. To claim otherwise is insane... which is why we live in this farked up world.

Having a small(cheap) funeral isn't elevating your pet to a child's level, it's showing respect to something that brought you years of joy and giving some level of closure to something that will be missing out of your life.

A funeral for a pet should not cost any money at all, just 30 minutes max to dig up a hole and cover it up and tie two stick together to make a cross (if religious) or any other marking (if you're not religious) so you remember where the hole /

Honestly, I think all funerals are bullshiat wastes of time and money, so I really see no difference in wasting time and money on a human vs. wasting it on a pet.

I think expensive funerals are bullshiat wastes of time and money. Nothing wrong with burying a person or a pet. However, we've had traditions dating back 1000s of years as to what is accepted as a funeral for a person and it's hard to break with traditions. Paying for a pet funeral is down right retarded.

Have about 30 years worth of animals burried back there. Afraid for another animal to die as I don't want to accidentally dig up an old one.

I don't even own any pets, but I can understand how some people get attached to them. Most human beings nowadays are vicious and self-serving. I've never had a dog screw me over for sex or money. Let these people do what makes them happy.

Why don't you explain it to me? What is this "treatement" you're speaking of? You mean stuffing your pet after it dies and keeping it around the house? Why do that? I understand you would probably miss farking your pet after it's gone but let it go...
