The Mind Boggles: i didn't know that a little ball of fur that we've had just shy of 2 months could leave so much hurt in all of our hearts.

Dang, I drink one beer and the whole room gets dusty. :(

*HUGS.* Pets have an amazing ability to attach to us (and vice versa!) in no time flat. I know that if something happened to Morris, I'd cry my eyes out, and he's not even "our cat;" he's only been puttering around intermittently for a couple of months, but he's still a sweetie and I want to give him love that he deserves, same as Sassy and Sonny. The fact that you can and do feel pain at the passing of a pet like that tells me that you are a far better human than most of the bipedal wastes of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen that infest this planet.

Heck, things like Caturday give me hope for myself in a way; I'm a cranky, cynical, jaded b*tch most of the time anymore (and I turn 30 next month, yay...), and even though I can't be arsed to muster up sympathy for most people in their suffering, I can still empathize with your pain and feel it, and with that I know that there's still something worthwhile in me. I've pretty much given up on things like "hope" and "faith" in humanity at this point, but cats, I will do just about anything to have them curl up and purr with contentment, because they ask for so little but give so very much in return. Meh, sorry to rant or whatever; the beer is wearing off but the dust isn't, and I'm feeling all melancholy and all that crap for a bit.

I has found a place!
a nice little one bedroom place to call my own in a
nice quiet neighborhood and the resident property manager is a really nice older war veteran who takes
great pride in keeping this older apartment building clean and well protected :D
Whew! one major stress is now taken care of.
Yay!

Yayyyyyy!! To quote Lilo and Stich, "it is small, but good. Yes, it is good." :)

Salem Witch: OK how did all y'all Farkers find out about Fark?

A friend in college (2004 or 2005 thereabouts) read the photoshop threads here and linked me to a few of them. I started reading other threads as well, and a few months later, I made my own account, and I've been mucking about ever since. Someone sponsored me for TF at one point, which lapsed, and I've been renewing it on and off, in addition to others doing it for me when I enter the "lapse" period. Though, TBH, I'm half-inclined to drop TF for a while again, 'cause I'm simply never on regular Fark much as it is anymore, and $5 a month adds up, especially since I'm not pulling in much income right now. *Sigh.*

Ah well, finally done reading the entire thread and responding to those who I could remember to. Off to load Terraria again for a bit, as I'm in a building mood for some reason. Hurrah!

Yeah, a friend send the hubby and I a link, and it is totally worth the $10. Though I've been reading the general forums, and seeing the totally b*tchin' homes, castles, and other stuff built in the Show Us Your Base thread just make me weep. They are SO FREAKING COOL, and me? ...I'm the one on page 43 or something with the Tardis on her roof. In fairness, it is a very NICE Tardis, but the rest of my home is exceptionally bland in comparison :(

AlienNarrr!: Hey quick question a derpy friend just asked and I (never owning a cat myself) can't answer fully so I said I'd pass it onto the experts:
How much food does it take to feed one vs two kittens/cats?
Is it better to have one or two if they work full time?

I was all like uhhh I dunno...

Much better to have two, in my opinion, especially if the humans are out of the house all day. I've heard of single cats who spend the whole day trying to think up ways to punish their people for leaving. Multiple cats keep each other company during the day, but they're still very glad to see you when you get home.

Two kittens should make friends quickly, or they can get littermates. If they're willing to adopt older cats, sometimes two (or more) cats live together and are very good friends. If something happens to their human, it's hard for them to get adopted together. So rather than introducing two random adult cats, your friend should be able to find a pair.

Cost of cat food depends what kind one buys. You can get cheap stuff at the grocery store or expensive stuff at the vet. I tend to buy dry food at the vet - I get the special tarter control food. It's expensive, but I think I save money overall because I don't need to get tooth cleanings and other dental work for them as often.

/My thoughts. Let me tell you them.

If the kittens/cats work full time I'd get at least 12 so they could support me in the manner to which I wish to become accustom. But if the human works full time I think 2 kittens are best so they can keep each other company, this coming from the person with three.

that's pretty much the arguement i used when we got the boys. we buy the costco brand food because the first ingredient is meat based, not corn meal. two cats can also groom each other in places one cat might miss, such as ears. your friend will have twice the smiles with two kittehs

Awww. Well, the important thing is that you have fun, and I suppose that at its heart, that's what gaming is all about. :)

/apparently friends gf is so nerd she found some site that shows an entire picture of the entire world for a cheat

The hubby and I use one, called Terraria Map Viewer, and if you want to get technical it is a bit of a "cheat," but in fairness, the game really badly needs a map. Now, this is coming from someone who's played Warcraft almost since it launched, and I'm quite accustomed to having IRL maps everywhere I go (smartphones FTW), but it's amazingly useful to know where the hell you are and what's going on. That, and I love seeing my world change as I alter its surface to suit my own needs.

Oh my, and I just now opened it to check something, and it reminded me of just how enormous even the small maps are; I'm digging a "Jeffires Tube" of sorts straight across the map, tunneling through mountains and over gaps and water so that I can cross the terrain quickly without silly buggers. I'm in the middle of fixing the ceiling of said tunnel with stone so that grass doesn't grow and block light and blah blah blah, but after seeing the work that I have just done, and what is still left, is somewhat daunting. That, and I'm simply working the existing portion, as I've only dug a third of the way across the map thus far, and I've only fixed a third of THAT. *Sigh.* Ah well, pardon the threadjack, it's weird to see those who you know playing that what you do. :)

L33t Squirrel: AlienNarrr!: I am nowhere and by no means leet at that game buwahh hahahaha! I can barely stay AliVE in it and can't build a house worth shiat. But hey it keeps the pain at bay as it focuses my mind on that and not on pain or other stuff. Distraction is good when needed hah ha.

IT DOESN'T HELP!
Those little evil eyeballs and zomblies still get in!
It's the other people that let them in!!!
they leave the doors open!
GAH!
