Salem Witch: My Mom and I enjoy sending each other clarihews so while I was preparing, this popped into my head. It technically isn't a clarihew because the subject isn't in the first line, I don't think Juno will notice.

Thanks, that's great! I worked at company for almost 20 years and at lunch we always played a particularly mean game of Uno, with our own made-up rules of course. I sent this to an ex co-worker, I know he'll get a kick out of it.

Seriously, do they sell tacky mats commercially? We use one at the entrance to the clean room to pull dirt off shoes. If you could get something like that to lay back in the area I am confident no cat would eVER want to sleep on it. Don't know where you could get one those though.

I LOL'd picture Loki laying on it and it being stuck to him actually. That may be something to consider for the back of the computer under my desk. Would help trap cat hair as well. Win/win.

And found him. Laying on top of my dresser in front of the window in his usual spot. Looking at me like I'm dumb for not knowing where he was hiding in the apt even 30 minutes ago.

Home from work and at threads end, what a busy caturday! I got the call I was waiting for, will be going to Fl to look at adoptable ex- racehorses. Cats are all someplace cool I hope, the only one I found was Miss Cassie. She and Fiona walked with me around the back paddock to check fence and make sure the pasture was safe. Heat index in the triple digits again, so it was quite a walk for a little cat.
I was determined to just put the little keet out in the pen with the others and parent birds but I don't know if they will take him back. Then as I was looking at the lol cats I heard him scratching at the rubbermaid tote that is his home. He jumped out and came looking for me! I picked him up and set him on the sofa with me and he sat on my arm and made little cheeping sounds. After he ate a few dried meal worms he walked around on the sofa and then Flew abut six feet to the floor by the fire place!! He hopped back into his tote and talked to the little bird in the mirror. This must not be the first time he has been out. I just can't risk putting him out to a possible death at the hands of his real parents. I also can't keep a guinea in the house. I will finish his cage and catch one of his siblings and keep the two together in a cage until they are old enough to fend for themselves. How did I get into this?

/ I know its not a cat but it may be cat food if Miss Cassie finds him, can't let that happen.

Debby7813: My Bonnie was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, her first symptom was bumping into things. She had none of the typical weight loss, thirst & hunger. As a result, she is mostly blind; reacts to movement & light because her optic nerve is still intact. She takes methimazole tablets; I use Pill Pocketstm to give her her twice a day dose & she prefers the salmon flavor. She's 13 now, and doing fine. She goes in for a wellness checkup at least every 6 months to check her T4 levels & adjust meds, if needed. She has no heart problems (so far, knock wood), so she doesn't need any meds for that.

She was on the thyroid meds for 2 1/2 years and was blind the last year. It really didn't give her any problems because we had been in this house 6 years or so at that point so she knew where everything was. She developed renal failure that last year and was 13 1/2 when she was helped over the bridge. She was a sweet cat that had a shoe fetish. She would greet everyone who ever came in the door as a friend. Chloe was especially blissed out when someone would sit on the sofa after taking off their shoes so she had free access to their feet. She would lie down on her side near one of the persons feet and would reach out and grab their ankle so she could pull herself closer and then would rub her face all over their foot. She would sometimes drool blissfully while doing this! I used to love to tell the person that she loved feet, the stinkier the better just to see their expression. She has been gone 8 years this month.

No, seriously... all my bills are delivered online. On Wednesday I get the grocery store circulars. And it's not March, or December.. the two months of the year when I am not surprised to see pastel envelopes in the mail box.

Well, this week there was one. A PASTEL ENVELOPE IN MY MAILBOX. IN JULY

Now I read all about Alien sending folks smiles in their mail boxes...and I have never added my name to the queue... not that I wouldn't appreciate them... I just figured she had enough on her plate that sending a card to me was not the best use of her resources. I am happy to see her on Caturday and keep up with her that way.

Well apparently someone on this list is a narc. No looking at any large organ or bushy eyebrow in particular, just sayin....

I loved getting Alien smiles in the mail. I sat IN MY CAR IN 101 degree heat at the end of my driveway by the mailbox just to open this thing...and I laughed out loud at it all... the card with the "mature" gentlemen in the metallic blue speedo...with this look on his face that was perverted, scary and sick all at the same time. the magnets...the tassels...and the note...especially the note...it was all priceless!!

So, thank you lil Alien for your love and smiles. I hope I have given as good as I have gotten. I will carry on... and you will too.

We had a racoon eating the cat food off our back deck so we got a trap in an attempt to relocate the guy. After trapping each of our three cats at least once and a couple of the neighbors cats as well, we finally got the racoon last night and made a trip to the country about midnight to deposit him far away from any homes. Hopefully the cats now have an appreciation for the trap and if/when we need to catch another creature maybe we won't catch the cats again.

I have tried to trap out here but my Mikey loves the trap. He goes in and gets to eat a private meal, and then waits until I get him out and give him some "apology tuna". The last time I tried to catch a possum I went to check the trap late at night and found Mikey, I held the door open and he walked calmly out. He let me pick him up (outside even) and started purring very quietly as I carried him to the house to get him a snack.

He also loved to steal donuts, pie, porkchops, or anything else Dad or I was eating. And, the thing was, it wasn't that he liked people food, he wanted to be included with us at the table. It had to be what WE were eating, too. Seriously. We gave up and he got his own chair, as it was a 4-seat table and there were 2 of us. He wouldn't always beg; sometimes, he'd just sit and watch. Just watch. He always knew when we were starting and ending, too, and never arrived early or left late. It was strange, as he was a dim-bulb most of the time, but I miss my cat.

She's a sweet, little stray that started coming around our house in the Castro. She's very friendly but after a month of feeding her the gooshy foods, we decided she needed a good shot at a forever home. We currently have two rescues ourselves and our landlord won't allow a third cat.

She's been at Animal Care and Control (415/544-6364) for a week, she's passed her behavioral, and now they're waiting on the SPCA to decide if the SPCA would like to put her up for adoption. She responded really well to my husband brushing her and I thought if anyone could do anything for her -- you folks could. She comes when called and she's so tiny. We feel like total heels because we built up her trust over the course of a month and then snatched her to take her to the pound.
