If I wanted to watch soccer played by slow-footed players with no ball skills, I'd head down to a Union match.

Watching the Amazon women from Brazil play the Pygmy women from Equatorial Guinea to an exciting 0-0 tie at the half.
Not only can't these teams buy a goal, they are evidently too poor to afford last names either, as the vast majority of the players have only one name.

If you get ESPN, check to see if you get ESPN3.com. They'll post a replay of the match an hour or two after the game and you can watch it whenever you want.

I think it's supposed to be blowing a kiss. But exaggerated because they want it to show in a still picture.

yeah, it probably doesn't look nearly as stupid in person. it's like someone that looks normal in real life, but when they smile for pictures they look like serial killers. sometimes people should learn to look at themselves critically in pictures.

/I for one, look stupid if i try to smile. so, i have to contrive a smile by finding something to laugh at, and time my laugh with the camera. otherwise I look like I'm passing a kidney stone. or i just don't smile (easiest of all solutions, the universal non-effort method)

Anyone else getting confused while switching back and forth? Both games have one team in yellow and one in white. Good games so far though.

I'm only able to follow what's happening via wiki, and I see that Sweden are up 2-0. Wow, wasn't expecting that. Looks like the US will be facing Brazil in the quarters.

Very interesting, that'll be a huge game.

The us ladies are playing terribly. 95 % of the shots are way off target. Nobody's connecting passes. It even frustrating to watch.

2011-07-06 04:09:04 PM
There's nothing more annoying then having chances and not getting even close. Sheesh.

/at least we're going through regardless.

GOAL USA!
'bout time Wambach!

But that was a great, accidental goal from Wambach right there.

USA pulls one back. 2-1 with 25 mins to go. Wambach will get credit though it appeared to go off a Swedish defender.

I think the last touch was off of Abby's shoulder, so credit deserved.

They get one back (finally/luckily). The women's team has had quite a few chances, although most came in the first half, and the Swedish keeper has been playing pretty well to keep them out.

Need fewer shots from way outside.

Borderline offside call on the Swedes there, would've been 3-1....3 extra mins

yikes. Lucky bad call

Make the final 2-1 Sweden over USA and a 0-0 draw between Colombia and Best Korea.

We were going to have to beat Brazil if we wanted to win the cup anyway. We might as well do it now

Way to make soccer irrelevant in America again, team!

It's not like we should be that worried, the US is 24-2-2 against Brazil, all-time if I heard that correctly.

They're actually 1st in the Eastern Conference of MLS, but then again, MugzyBrown was just making a knock on the MLS, not the Union, at least that's what I think he was doing, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm just scared of going into Chester. It makes Gary Indiana seem like Bel Aire

The secret is the cabbie, get one with a stylistic license plate, and make sure to say "yo homes smell you later" when he drops you off

25-2-2 apparently, but that's small consolation (new window).

A bit of both.

I've seen large parts of 3, 4 games on TV this year and have never seen them score a goal.. or really threaten, or string 4 passes together.

I have no idea how they're in 1st place.
