What did it do for the chili?

From what I know about chili cookoffs, bathing your competitor's chili in tear gas will actually help his chances.

2011-06-29 02:30:29 PM
The only reason he got fired was because he did it to other cops. If he'd done it to dirty hippy protestors he would've gotten a paid vacation.

2011-06-29 02:30:47 PM
If your chili is so shiat you have to attack people to take them out of the competition, maybe you shouldn't be making chili at all.

/loves a good, spicy chili
//yes, I don't mind bhut jolokias in my chili

Some people just can't take a little ribbin'.

What should have happened: Office repays the city for the teargas canister. Officer gets reprimanded. Victim gets told to cowboy up, but gets to punch said officer in the balls.

That's justice!

He'll be doing thyme.

But he maintains his innocence :)

Why is everyone so convinced otherwise? Perhaps he's an alcoholic and it wasn't his fault.

As an immediate result of the gas release, Hamby was forced to resign his volunteer position on the rodeo's calf scramble committee, and also stepped down from his position on the board of the Houston Police Officer's Union.

These two positions hold roughly the same level of prestige.

That's ridiculous. He was obviously just chopping really strong onions. The rival obviously just made up the tear gas story to get the guy disqualified/fired.

THIS. This guy gets the offer to go ahead and retire. He should be charged for assault at the very least. Then there's the improper use of government property, release of dangerous chemicals... all stuff that would wind the average citizen on the no fly list/prison.

With the full support of his union.

You want to know why we don't trust the cops? It's simple - they can do this sort of shiat and get away with it, with the rest of the cops backing them up all the way. Any time a cop does something wrong, no matter how trivial, you're now looking at a blue wall of assholes going "yeah - now, what are you gonna do about it?"

So... what would happen if one of us mundanes had just tossed a tear gas canister into an occupied tent? All sorts of weapons, assault, and terrorism charges I figure. This would then lead to decades in prison.

Cop gets a kind of fake punishment... he gets to retire... that is get paid for not working.

Houston cop. Picking on those who can't defend themselves. I hope the other people get his pension, and the gold out of his teeth, forcibly removed from his anus.
Worse than a Houston cop assaulting the disabled? I don't know what's worse, but it's pretty near the bottom. I'm fairly sure if the cop were the disabled one, the HPD would be piling a shiatload of charges.
