Searching for something that doesn't exist? Super. I'm going to start a distributed computing effort to look for ghosts, or Jesus. Whichever is more popular.

Fb-: Searching for something that doesn't exist? Super.

What would you propose we search for instead? Something we already know about?
I personally have found the g-spot. Several times on several specimens. No need for further research on that subject.
Which quarks are we missing? Top? Strange? Charmed? I don't know if distributed computing could do that.
There's always United Devices and their spyware search for for cancer (when they're not doing business on your machine instead).
Maybe you'd prefer a search for carrots? Or the internal combustion engine?

2001-10-26 11:37:27 AM
Fb - you have reason to believe that extraterrestrial intelligence does not exist? Please share.

2001-10-26 11:41:31 AM
Slow news day?

2001-10-26 11:43:46 AM
HPZ: What's this about United Devices as "spyware"? Could you post a link or explain?

2001-10-26 11:49:53 AM
Congrats Timothy!

I'm not the one that thinks there are little green men in space ships looking for our radio signals. I think you have the explaining to do.

2001-10-26 12:02:54 PM
fb,

you are obviously an idiot.

my 2 cents

2001-10-26 12:04:24 PM
We think they're purple you dumbass......

HPZ: I personally have found the g-spot.

Me, too. I found the research to be most interesting, and the people helping me in the quest were very dedicated to the pursuit.

Habeas: How the hell is this guy still single?

Probably because I spend too much time looking for ET and posting on Fark. Or maybe I'm gay. (Might as well say that before somebody else dares question my enthusiasm for boobies.)

2001-10-26 12:08:33 PM
hmmmmmm is anyone else thinking ...40%

2001-10-26 12:47:35 PM
GEEEEEK!!! no I'm kidding, congrats Tim.

2001-10-26 12:48:39 PM

Further proof that FARKers, unlike babies, should be heard and not seen.

2001-10-26 02:04:23 PM
I love how somebody can list skepticism as a hobby. "I think that's really a man!" Gotta love the starry eyed comments on replacing our dating system. "We just out our first signal from Sirius, its Year 0 people!"

Something tells me Seti picked tim on purpose for the fark hits.

2001-10-26 02:45:27 PM
Not to be on anybody's jock or anything, but Fb-'s posts are by far the most entertaining on Fark.

2001-10-26 04:24:18 PM
I can't believe he didn't even list FARK.COM as one of his favorite web sites.

What a traitor.

2001-10-26 04:35:11 PM
Crunch on, Timothy.

Part of me wants to congratulate you on your "User of the Day" listing, while another part of me wants to beat you down for achieving the 1337 UotD status before me.

I'm such the passive-agressive geek.
(my profile listing order is INT(0.434*Tim's))

2001-10-26 05:07:55 PM
Oh my god, ladies, can you believe he's single and available?!?

2001-10-26 06:07:57 PM
I was 'user of the day' plenty of times, at home, with some buddies and some zags and a cold one. (or two, or seven)

2001-10-26 07:17:41 PM
Yay! Timmy! Love the Pyroto, btw. Frustratingly amusing.

2001-10-26 07:37:25 PM
Fb-: Seti@home has nothing to do with with little green men in spaceships.

I have decided to change my URL to link to Fark.com on the overall status page. I am rated #13 overall.
