That was Ebert's feel-good movie of the year, right there, folks.

"I'm Ryan Dunn and this is 'Driving Irresponsibly.'"

Pure and utter speculation on my part:

He was street racing and somebody farked up. I mean, perhaps the other set of skid marks has been explained, but if not, I wouldn't doubt that another vehicle was involved in the incident.

If done correctly, the LULZ potential of this could be epic.

Good observation.....I believe you are the first to mention that possibility. Regardless....I hope they were already dead before getting burned up; or were they ejected?

coeyagi Some would say that this man has been punished enough and paid for his mistake with his life.... but Christ, PA traffic is so god damn terrible,

That's how God smites those who built metropolises before thine automobile. Plus he wanted you to take the PRR, NYC, Erie, Lackawanna, Lehigh Valley, B&O, C&O, N&W, CNJ, Nickel Plate, D&H, and of course the Reading railroads. I'd like to see the WBC stop in Amish Country to explain their heathen automobiles

pseudologue Why, oh why must I choose a side in this? As a Chester County local, I have seen first hand the less-playful pranks the Jackass crowd have pulled which include the brutal beating of an elderly West Chester University security guard, and the terrorizing of businesses and homes in the greater West Chester area. These guys are thugs, plain and simple.

You left out Bam openly mocking "Bigfoot" from the Howard Stern Show, before befriending him, as you'd do to any 7'6" bouncer

In the new system, where "Don't Be a Dick" is the law of the land, these assholes would be sentenced to Life.

Why not Death, you ask? Because that would be a dick move.

2011-06-21 02:45:44 PM
On the bright side, Bam is the kind of asshole who would walk over to them in the middle of the funeral, and beat the shiat out of Fred Phelps. I'd like to see that on tape.

The Westboro people are idiots. I would love to see them get their hineys handed to them. Ryan Dunn was still someone's child, brother, friend etc. People ought to have some respect at a person's funeral.

2011-06-21 02:56:29 PM
I'm going to specify in my will that I want the WBC to protest at my funeral. I'd say I want NOFX and Slayer to play, but hopefully it'll be a while so they'll be really old or dead by then.

moops: Twigz221: yay. Another thread where people call Ryan Dunn a drunk driver, even though there's no solid evidence that he was drunk.

He had three beers and three shots in the course of FOUR hours. That's drunk.

He deserved his fate and he's a horrible person for bringing another person to his grave because he's above the law.

I don't think things have changed since my DUI school back in 2001. 1 beer=1 shot=1 glass wine
The average human body gets rid of one of those per hour, I do not think he could have been that drunk with the remaining TWO drinks in his body assuming that is all he had. shiatty driver, definitely.

I find it so funny when everyone takes a shot at the jackass guys saying how worthless they are as they have any room to judge, yet they get all butt-hurt when someone pokes at them.
The Jackass guys are entertainers, maybe not YOUR type of entertainment, but that's what they are. I don't defend anyone stupid enough to get in a car and drive when wasted. I was however a big fan of Dunn, I was actually a punk ass myself as a young teen and still enjoy a shenanigan or two at others expense. RIP Ryan Dunn and your mystery friend. I hope everyone stands up and knocks out a few of these cult inbred Westboro farks!

Demetrius: Diogenes: We gave ourselves free will by eating of the Tree

So it was god's choice that we ate from the tree? Because we didn't have free will before that, so it must have been his choice...right?

You know how I know Adam was teh ghey??

He was facing a naked woman holding an apple ... And chose to eat the apple instead.

Ral: This is a good opportunity for me to put up a link to a fascinating essay about the Phelps family and why they are so messed up, and the few in the clan who bailed and why they will have nothing to do with their birth family. This article was originally submitted as an exhibit in a court case where Jon Michael Bell (the author) sued Staffer Communications back in 1994.

Addicted to Hate: The Fred Phelps Story

After reading through a bit of that horrifically depressing story, I can't help but wonder why none of the kids that left the compound didn't return with a rifle or something. The whole junkyard dog mentality, you can only abuse something so many times before it snaps.

Methadone Girls: I would love to fantasize about things too. I just tend to choose better subject matter.

In other news, I didn't know him. I find false sympathy more offensive then genuine apathy.

I'm not willing to sympathize or condem until the story comes out. So far all we know is Dunn & friend were driving at a high rate of speed and went through the guard rail. Waiting for evidence is so lame when we can just accuse though right?

That would be correct, actually. You apparently have a vested interest in the actual facts of the case. I on the other hand don't give a damn about Ryan Dunn, Jackass, or PA a whole hell of a lot and can settle for what seems obvious to me on the surface.

Do the "facts" of the OJ Simpson case really do much to assure one side or the other of what really happened there? And of course, if you're someone like myself who a) doesn't know OJ, and b) has nothing staked on the outcome of his trial(s), does it really matter?

Seems obvious to me he got away with murder. Many would say the same. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

I watch Jackass. I'm not holding out much hope that he wasn't driving and hammered, but I'm willing to wait for the evidence before I jump all over him for his choices. Why is that so hard for you?

I've never watched Jackass. Hell, I haven't even watched TV in about a decade. Giving a damn about things which I have no natural reason to isn't really easy or difficult, it's unnecessary.

The man was drunk, speeding, and pretty much tempted fate. Seems like he was just the type to do that sort of thing. He lived his life much as he ended it. Commenting on both counts? What a waste.

I could almost say the fact that a friend died along with him is "tragic", but even there, the guy made the decision to get in the car with someone who wasn't fit to drive. Maybe his judgement was impaired at the time, but then again, this is kinda in the spirit of drunk driving laws in the first place- that you shouldn't be making decisions that entail that kind of gravitas when your brain is several Lucky Charms short of being Magically Delicious.

thatboyoverthere: The Slush: Diogenes: Goshen, PA (one of the most evil states to ever exist)

I wonder how PA earned that distinction.

Draconian blue laws.

I think Weaver lives in that state. Have him tell you what you have to go through to buy a six-pack, a case, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of vodka for a party.

/Westboro you're dealing with a bunch of grieving immature people here that have no respect for the unspoken rules of decency and MTV to bail them out of trouble. This will end badly for you.

That will be a minimum of three stops to get all those things. You can get a six-pack at a bar (expensive) or a six pack shack (generally reasonable). For the case you have to go to the distributor (Just make sure it's not after 9 Mon-Sat or after 5 on Sunday). For the wine and vodka you need to go to a Wine & Spirits Store (Generally the same hours as distributors but some close early on Monday and Tuesday, some don't open on Sunday, some don't carry the liquor your looking for or they just ran out. If it's not at the store you need to special order it through the store. At least the prices are fixed though so you don't have to shop around (Insert sarcasm))

Regardless of whether or not he was legally drunk, I'd imagine that driving a Porsche GT3 at high speeds at night requires the kind of reflexes and concentration that would be inhibited by any amount of alcohol.

all the internet white-knighting for this ass clown is mind boggling.

Does it MATTER if he was drunk or not? In fact, wouldn't driving over 100mph SOBER make him an ever BIGGER idiot?

The scariest part of it is, had the accident never happened, or if he'd miraculously survived the accident, he'd be boasting and laughing about it right now, perhaps even planning on including it in the next movie ... setting quite the example for America's youth.
