I just called my Dad, who, when I was 5, awakened me so that I could watch the B's win in 1972. Love ya, Dad

2011-06-15 11:17:16 PM

jekostas: That asshole's been riding my back since about halfway through the playoffs, and yes I'm kinda pissed off that he shows up after the game and talks sh*t after I've already capitulated.

Yes, I did. And remember when we argued about the Horton hit, you corrected me on some facts, and then I apologized and said you were right? Immediately after that discussion we talked goalies and you went all homer and said stats had nothing to do with anything and it was wins, only. You backtracked on statements and contradicted yourself, each time in order to defend your favorite team and Luongo specifically. You couldn't admit when you were wrong. So I gave up reasoning with you and started pestering you. Now you're head's exploding. It's pure awesome to watch.

DenisBergkamp: soopey: Your guys laid it out. They played a hard, chippy, 7 game series.

You're too kind, seriously! I think a couple Canucks in the offseason are going to have some serious questions posed by themselves and the rabid fanbase for doing a bit of a disappearing act. The Bruins played a great series night in night out but I really can't say the same about my boys in blue.

Well said, DBk. See you in the fall, brother.

CBC just showed an overturned car on fire on Hamilton St.

Yeah right, I'm watching the riot police in Boston mobilized on TV...

bighairyguy: Updated for 2010-2011: Adorable little map.

Meh, always remember that it's good ol' Canadian boys winning those cups. What's important here is that Vancouver lost. As a Canadian, I assure you that fact unites both our countries. Vancouver was never, ever "Canada's team."

2011-06-15 11:17:55 PM

carnifex2005: Heh. Overturned car on Hamilton St. just exploded and is burning. CBC just showed it.

I hope it wasn't Luongo's tires burning.

AT least it was an ass kicking. If they had lost a close game on an iffy call or something all hell would be breaking loose. As it is some dumbass with a "Go Bruins" sticker on his car probably parked it in Vancouver

jennyz: Publikwerks: Honestly, I can t get over how classy the fans in Vancouver are. I don't know if I could be that awesome in the face of a loss.

Seriously, I doubt you would see that in the States.

It's happens this way every year.

NHL fans, when it comes down to it, are awesome (although there are always a few bad apples). I think that nearly all fans have a serious respect for the Cup that outweighs hatred of the opposing team.

Well, as a Boston fan, I do appreciate it.

Congrats Bruins and Boston Fans.

/Stars fan

They're booing Bettman and cheering all the Boston players - WHAT THE F*CK ELSE DO YOU WANT?

There's loads of stupid here. Apparently they have never seen a cup presentation

I was sitting on the glass when New Jersey skated the Cup at Reunion Arena in 2000. I guess I respect the awarding of the hardest trophy in Pro sports to win more than you morons that think acting classless is cool.

/Hate Me all you want
// Vancouver fans were classless

I know this has been covered about 400 times in the past 15 minutes. But I'll say it a bit slower, THEY WERE BOOING BETTMAN SPORT!

Have you not watched a cup presentation since 2000? I won't judge.

Yeah...Kesler wasn't close to 100% after game 2, but he played very well tonight...which kind of makes you wonder about the healthier players.

If you retool in the offseason with what little cap room you have, and trade a little speed & skill for some grit (particularly on D), you'll probably finish it next time. I thought getting rid of guys like Mitchell and O'Brien and getting more mobile on the blueline was a nice move, but the Hamhuis injury, coupled with Ballard apparently playing himself out of the rotation REALLY exposed the lack of toughness on the Canucks on defense.

I was in the old Boston Garden in 1990 when the Bruins lost game 5 to the Edmonton to lose the Cup 4 games to 1. I was happily surprised that the Bruins fans applauded as the cup was been skated around by the Oilahs.

It's kinda what Vancouver does. There was a riot after a missed Guns 'N Roses concert. Like in 2004. We'll riot just because it's a sunny day out.

Yeah... Still kinda lame, though.

Always a few assholes I guess.

Let's just be clear here. I know you're trolling, but:

Detroit doesn't riot. When we win, there is some celebrating in the streets, but its chill, 'cause we know there's gonna be a parade next week where we can all hang out downtown, booze it up, and have fun. When we lose, we simply go home and wait for next year. No rioting.
