Obama is our President. This Birther stuff is a useless distraction from the real issues that we could be having with his presidency.

BTW I would like to see Obama's Senatorial emails. Much like Palin's, they may be illuminating. I guess the press is more interested in an ex-governor than a sitting president. So it goes.

LincolnLogolas: stoli n coke: LincolnLogolas: I knew Oily Taint would find someone crazy enough to try and get her back into the headlines. Even Oily has given up the "He wasn't born in Hawaii" argument, and is now pushing the argument that since BOTH of his parents weren't US citizens, he's ineligible to be president.

That's the new argument? For an attorney, Oily really has no idea how citizenship laws work.

Yeah, as soon as the birth certificate was released, she said something along the lines of it being a "positive first step" but that he was still ineligible due to the fact that his father wasn't a US citizen. She believes that "natural born citizen", legally, means that you were not only born in the US, but both of your parents were as well.

I have to wonder if we've had any other presidents who had at least one immigrant parent.

Both of Andrew Jackson's parents were Irish immigrants. If Orly Taitz wants to be logically consistent, she should claim that he was ineligible to the president too.

Maybe I'm off base, and maybe this has been discussed before, but if the Birthers claim that Obama is

a.) not born in the U.S. and/or
b.) a British citizen

isn't it incumbent on THEM to produce evidence that would back up those claims, like a birth cert from Kenya or other proof of British citizenship?

It sure looks like standard deviation from a typewriter/paper/xerox combo. If he wants to prove otherwise he needs to START with getting a contemporary document or similar typewriter/paper combo and compare type/letter deviations.

Here's my question, what exactly has Obama done to deserve this much hatred and insistence on him not being Natural-Born? Last I checked we're not a Police-state, we're not being rounded up in the streets and shot, Republicans have not been declared illegal, there's no secret war crimes, nothing that he deserves to be kicked out of office and brought up on charges over. Yet they call him a dictator and a tyrant and mockingly call him The Chosen One, as though his supporters ever treated him like he was. What did he do besides be Black while President?

Deevra: what exactly has Obama done to deserve this much hatred and insistence on him not being Natural-Born

He's a democrat and he's black.

The latter is just something to attack him for being the former.

if he was white, it would be something else.

actualhuman: So, is it just me or would you have to have never seen anything produced by a typewriter to interpret those 'variations' as anything other then different degrees of ink saturation?

weave: As someone old enough to have used those blasted typewriters, I say it'd be impossible to make any two letters look exactly identical. You had letters on the end of a stalk that struck down against a ribbon with various amount of force, the ribbon's ink was never even, and the paper would even move about slightly as it was being hammered by the keys.

I had to learn to type on a manual typewriter, and anyone who bases an argument on an assumption that letters will be identical on the same sheet, in the same word, or even two letters right together is an absolute moron. On a manual typewriter, you could type "TTTTTTT" and come up with seven different looking T's. As a matter of fact, if the T's were identical it would be evidence of some kind of fraud. Autograph experts actually count on pressure points with a pen being different in order to authenticate an autograph, since a consistent line all the way through a signature is almost a sure sign of someone tracing it.

To whom are you referring? Obama's birth certificate shows him to be born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, (and he 'claims' the same). So it can't be Obama you are referring too, hmmmm curious.

So is that the standard? You have to claim to not be a natural born citizen in order to be questioned about your citizenship?

/let's see how much the goal posts will move.
