These predictions that Ryan's plan would never work are from the same people who predicted that Anthony Weiner was hacked by Andrew Breibart.

Just say'n.

And the predictions that it will work come from people who said Shirley Sherrod is a racist.

What does it all mean? Nothing. Not a god damn thing.

Fortunately for us all, one can use math on Ryan, rather than going by Breitbart's own record.

We can do tax cuts we just have to strip out all deductions. I do mean all tax deductions in all of the tax code, not just personal income tax.

This thread isn't about either Ryan's plan or Weiner's weiner. Troll elsewhere.

Dusk-You-n-Me: monoski: To be fair they did decrease them for everyone (who pays taxes) it just so happened that the number for the truly wealthy was more than some people will earn in a lifetime.

According the link I posted taxes went up for 90% of middle and low-income families because local funding cuts by Pawlenty prompted local governments to increase property taxes. I don't know if one offset the other, and that particular fact doesn't have a citation that's clickable.

My property taxes more than doubled while Pawlenty was governor.

Under President Bush's plan, an average family of four's inflation-adjusted disposable income would increase by $4,544 in fiscal year (FY) 2011, and the national debt would effectively be paid off by FY 2010.

The net tax revenue reduction, after accounting for the larger tax base that would result from higher employment and faster economic growth under the Bush plan, is $1.1 trillion from FY 2002 to FY 2011, 33.4 percent less than conventional static estimates.

The plan would save the entire Social Security surplus and increase personal savings while the federal government accumulated $1.8 trillion in uncommitted funds from FY 2008 to FY 2011,

count chocula: thenooch: Well if cutting taxes to 10 and 25% nets us 5% growth, why don't we cut them down to 5% and 15%....would the GDP explode?

Well, if you make the tax rate approach 0%, then the GPD, and thus revenue, will approach infinity. Free unicorns for all!

I'd be willing to allow tax cuts to drop to 1% just so I could see if any stupid farking asshole Republicans would complain that taxes are still too high.

I'm kind of amazed that conservatives seem to think of tax cuts as not cumulative. Just something you do now and then, and never raise them, and we'll never run out of revenue. Like taxes are this shrub that keeps growing over your porch, and you have to keep trimming it and you'll never run out of branches to cut.

WhyteRaven74: vernonFL: Lets start a trade war with the Chinese! Now THAT is a good idea!

Never mind we already know the tariff thing will do more harm than good thanks to the lessons of the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act.

While an arbitrary tax on Chinese imports would be bad, a reciprocal tax would not. Our import tax should be the same as their import tax. Which right now is lopsided. If they want free trade they have to remove their tariffs which is around 30%.

Yeah, like they might start manipulating their currency in order to create a gigantic trade deficit between our countries.

Garble: vernonFL: Lets start a trade war with the Chinese! Now THAT is a good idea!

Yeah, like they might start manipulating their currency in order to create a gigantic trade deficit between our countries.

There is a way to boost our exports everywhere without being involved in a trade war. Unfortunately, it's called having a weak dollar, and anything with "weak" in the name is politically nonviable. Basic rule of thumb: strong dollar = cheap imports, weak dollar = more exports, all else being equal. There's a small movement to rename the concepts as buyers' and sellers' dollars, but it's not catching on beyond the wonky Ezra-Klein-reading set.

Which is nice, unless your company doesn't sell stuff overseas. And if it did, most of your workers and production is overseas to begin with. So the only ones really making the profits are those executives and stock holders. People who do nothing and have too much money to begin with. That isn't what America is built on. America needs to be build on small business and innovation. Not hoarding of profits and power in the hands of a few who now have Constitutional protections as businesses.

My paternal grandmother was under the false impression that Obama had raised taxes... later, I saw her tax return.. she's 93(grandpa died last year), she made more money than I did, and her tax rate was about half a percent, about a tenth of mine..

FACT:

Rich folks pay like 97% of taxes in the US

FACT:

The other 90% of people only pay that 3%

LOGICAL RUNNING PLATFORM
Cut tax rates on the lower 90% to zero. Cut budget by 3%. Become people's hero.

Why has NOBODY suggested this?

So a "FACT" has the word like in it?

How much of the US income do "rich folks" make?
