Ezra Klein ran a scathing overview of Bayh's hypocritical fall from grace in March.

Pretty much, indeed.

Oh ho ho...big surprise there. Guy who cynically traded upon holding himself out as a "moderate" (immoderate) voice in the Democratic party who had no trouble being obsctructionist when it politically suited him now bails on that when it's no longer of use.

It's a time share, he likes to keep his option open.

Unfortunately the apple fell way too far from the tree in his case, he always be a footnote in his father's biography.

To be replaced by whom, Daniels? Is there really another remotely viable candidate to replace Coats, which is assuming that Daniels doesn't run for President. Granted that's 5 years from now, but Coats is pretty worthless. He's a Senator limited in influence, hypocritical on gun rights, and never left the Washington political machine.

"We don't see this effort as an 'us versus them' issue," Collamore said. "Having a Democrat of [Bayh's] stature gives the effort more heft and an important perspective."

We want to prove we can buy people of either party to spout the crap that makes us the most money. Grats on being a sell out after your resignation speech Bayh.

A "non-partisan" Blue Dog signs up with the Chamber? I am shocked, shocked I say, shocked.

What he said:
When he announced his retirement, Bayh denounced what he saw as "too much partisanship and not enough progress" in Congress, and said his decision was motivated by a belief that he could "best contribute to society in another way: creating jobs by helping grow a business, helping guide an institution of higher learning, or helping run a worthy charitable endeavor."

What he meant:
I will now leave office in order to whore myself out to the highest bidder.

Evan Bayh should realize that no one really gives a rat's ass what Evan Bayh thinks about anything.

And, is there anyone who thought his wife, Susan, would have been on so many healthcare corporate boards if she weren't married to a U.S. Senator? At best she'd have been a mid-level corporate lawyer. We've got the best worst government corporate money can buy!

Well, he is an adviser for a large Private Equity firm. They buy big.
