What else is sad is that this was a 30 second clip on the news between bomb this and Anthrax that.

Ok, I am taking donations for Relief of the Workers Who Died In the New York City Scaffolding Collapse. We at RWWDINYCSC beleive that if someone close to you dies, you deserved to get paid. Bigtime. Don't forget- it is you patriotic duty and may actually get you into heaven.*

* these results have not been evaluated by the FDA

NOTE to morons: I am not actually taking donations.

"left a pile of steel, stone and wood that reached up to the third-floor window of the building"

frack! that's a lot of debris produced from some scaffolding.

On the local news last night they said two more bodies had been recovered, for a total of 7 dead.

It is very sad. And to the callous pricks like 43%:
no one said you had to mourn or be sensitive or anything- but several guys just trying to do their jobs have died. No need to be such an asshole. Maybe you should keep your sarcastic, angry shiat to yourself in such circumstances.

I think the New York City has suffered enough without the jokes. Everyone is free to do what they want but I think they deserve a break. Hang Tough NYC!!! and go Yanks. Fark, the Rangers are never going to see the world series so I might as well cheer for somebody who will.

FuzzyMonkey:
1) CallousPrick woulda been a great handle.
2) Forgive me for being sick and tired of the tendancy of people to throw money at grief.
3) Forgive me for being sick and tired of peoples attempts at shaming and cajoling others into charity.
4) ...sensitive or anything- but several guys just trying to do their jobs have died : So you are saying I have to be sensitive?
5) Hmmm, sarcasm on Fark? What the hell is wrong with me.
6) I did not know anybody involved. I am truly sorry if you did. Feel free to make smart remarks about my friends and family when they die.
7) You cry when celebrities die, don't you.
8) Libby Hoeller for president.

1) True.
2&3) I can understand your frustration. On the other hand, there are plenty of folks here that do need money after all that has happened. And it makes some folks feel better to donate so they feel like they can help. You needn't open your wallet. Everybody wins.
4)I don't care if you are sensitive or not, I was trying to say that your comments were simply inappropriate. We all have thoughts and feelings that are completely valid, but sometimes should not be expressed. (And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to censor you- just wanted to point out that maybe this was not the time to express your grievances.)
5) Never! :)
6) I wish you no ill will.
7) Only John Lennon and I was only 6 at the time, does that count?
8) No, Hillary in 2004!

I know Hassen's gonna jump all over me for that one!

I get your point and I have no doubt you didn't intend to piss off anybody. You just have to realize that the people of New York are going to be extra sensitive. I hurt my back a few months back and I was in some serious pain for several days. When I finally went to the doctor I was at my wits end. They gave me a shot and I was almost ready to cry. I am pretty tough and can even give myself shots but after suffering prolonged pain I was as soft as a jellyfish. It's kind of like that. The people of NYC had the guts kicked out of them. One more thing is all it takes to bring all they're anger and pain back to the surface.
