That sucks. I met him at Delilah's once. Great music, strange man.
2003-08-22 03:07:15 PM
Will the vultures eat his dead ass up?
2003-08-22 03:08:07 PM

2003-08-22 03:09:11 PM
Get the rat's nest off your head
Get that crazy-ass mother off your skull
Take your ass to the barber shop
Tell the barber that you're sick of looking like an asshole
2003-08-22 03:09:11 PM
Wow, that's crappy. I throughly enjoyed his music. Shame to see someone that talented leave so young.
2003-08-22 03:09:12 PM
Yeah, I think a whole lot of people are going to be going "Who?"
2003-08-22 03:09:13 PM
Slow Cars, Fast Cars. Wesley rocked your ass!
2003-08-22 03:09:28 PM

2003-08-22 03:09:33 PM
From what I've heard and read about him, a very interesting character/musician(?).

Wesley Willis was a real phenomenon. There was always something disturbing about the fact that yuppies and hipsters laughed at his schizophrenic rants, but ultimately he was just plain different and therefore exciting. I am very sad to see him gone. Time to stock up on some of his 50 albums.
2003-08-22 03:09:49 PM
His songs were... unique. It is sad that he passed away at a young age.
2003-08-22 03:09:52 PM
I guess Batman whooped his ass this time
2003-08-22 03:10:06 PM
Someone please explain who this person was. I got nothin' from the article that would make me think I heard his music.
2003-08-22 03:10:22 PM
Wasn't he in Stand By Me and Star Trek: The Next Generation?
2003-08-22 03:10:23 PM
I met him a while back when he played at the Euclid Tavern in Cleveland. Rock and Roll McDonald's and I Whupped Batman's Ass were great songs.
2003-08-22 03:10:27 PM
It is nice to see that a "Wesly" in the tagline obviously is enough these days to get a link greenlighted

/obscure wheaton reference
2003-08-22 03:10:41 PM
This headline farked my ass up like a car crash....Continental Airlines one airline can make the difference.

Jesus is the answer.

Long Live Wesley Willis!!!
2003-08-22 03:10:54 PM

2003-08-22 03:12:26 PM
This is the worst day ever man. At least I got to see him in concert a few months ago. Fly your flags at half mast, farkers.
2003-08-22 03:12:27 PM
Rats. I think he'd like everyone to remember him by this though:
2003-08-22 03:12:53 PM
Well now he can suck they devil's asshole

2003-08-22 03:13:23 PM
Why would someone post "Who is he?" here when they could just read the article?

"Wesley released well over 50 albums - 3 of which are on
Alternative Tentacles, and a 4th, entitled, Wesley Willis Greatest
Hits Vol. 3 (CD) had already been scheduled for release in October of
this year."

Not enough information? Google him.
2003-08-22 03:13:32 PM
Wesley Willis

1. Who the hell is this guy? (I am too lazy to Google)
2. Why the hell should I care that he is dead?
2003-08-22 03:13:35 PM
today is truly a sad day in the world of music.....

r.i.p. wesley...... you will be missed :(

Opie and Anthony are crying, somewhere, right now. Rock and roll mcdonalds!11111!!1!
2003-08-22 03:14:43 PM
For the uniformed:

Wesley Willis was an obese, schitzophrenic homeless man from chicago who made music using only the preset settings on his keyboard. He had a permenent bump on his forhead where he would headbutt people in gretting. Every song he ever did would end in a ad slogan or motto. As referenced already, his classic songs included "I whupped batmans ass" "cut the mullet" and "Rock and Roll McDonalds". I got to see him live at a voodoo concert in boston, very friendly guy. it was a small crowd so we'd actually talk to him between sets and such. Was easily one of the most underground/unique people making music out there.
2003-08-22 03:14:48 PM
go to the barber and tell him your sick of lookin' like an a**hole

/cut the mullet
2003-08-22 03:14:51 PM

Now who will tell me to suck their dog's dick?

WW, you were truly an asset to the world of weird music. Some may say you were a novelty act; I just think you were attractively eccentric.
2003-08-22 03:15:06 PM
all of his albums are greatest hits albums.
i have a feeling he'll be left out of the "musicians that have died" list the next year's grammys.
i miss him.
2003-08-22 03:15:15 PM
This is truly sad... its not often someone as truly crazy as that gets to be famous. I loved the perma bruise on his forehead that he had because he head butted everyone he met for the first time as a means of greeting.
2003-08-22 03:15:17 PM
Does Gary Coleman know about this yet ? I sure hope Mr Drummond broke to him easy.
2003-08-22 03:15:34 PM
I'll cut my neighbor's mullet just for you, Wesley!
2003-08-22 03:16:17 PM
2003-08-22 03:16:26 PM
Rick Sims is also crying.

I got to headbutt him when he played here at the Shelter years ago, and he made you go RAWR! after you did it.
2003-08-22 03:17:01 PM
3.Why in the hell did you bother to read and post on a thread in which you have no interrest?

Why do people do this?
2003-08-22 03:17:01 PM
My favorite Wesley moment to this day was at a Pegboy show at Double Door years ago. He came in, pushed his way to the front of the crowd with a barstool in each arm, dropped them about 5 feet from the stage, sat on one, and proceeded to draw landscapes using the other stool as his table in the middle of the pit.

"mother....mother.....Mother......MOTHERfarkER GONE GET HIS biatch-ASS PIMP-SLAPPED DOWN!!"

"Wesley, if you don't stop that, you're going to have to go to the Kinko's on Western. You don't want to have to go all the way up there, do you?"

"No........................................................................... ................mother....mother.....Mother....."

RIP, Wes.
2003-08-22 03:17:21 PM
This most definitely will make baby Jesus cry!
2003-08-22 03:17:40 PM
Who are Opie and Anthony and why should I care about what they are doing?

What's all this about Wil Wheaton now?

What is this "Google" of which you speak?

McDonalds? What's that? Some kind of Scottish Food Restaurant? Who would want to pay money for haggis? That's just stupid.
2003-08-22 03:17:42 PM
i have a feeling he'll be left out of the "musicians that have died" list the next year's grammys.

You don't say.....
Fark the grammys, anyway.

Wheaties, breakfast of champions.

Say, I wonder if Casper the Homosexual Friendly Ghost got to him?
