Alamo does not mess around with its "no talking no texting" stuff. There are big (often funny) warnings ahead of time on the screen and a verbal warning if they catch you. If after all that you still have to talk/text you get everything that is coming to you.

I hate going to movie theater's just for this reason. You are in the dark and a light goes on you look unless you are in the front row. Talking is more of an irritation but in the end I go there to become absorbed by the film! This idiot just does not have enough brain cells to process the thought that other people exist in this world besides herself.

I make it a point to set my phone to vibrate when I go to the movies. I can't turn it off completely because of my work (system admin, on call 24/7). I don't make calls and I don't text while at the movies. If it's something important, I f*cking leave the theater to avoid disrupting other theater goers.

Down in San Jose in the 90's, there used to be a theater group doing Rocky Horror every Friday night at one of the small cinemas near SJ State University. One night, after the usual intro stuff (instructions, virgin sacrifice, ect.) but before the film started, some lady shouted out, "What the Hell are you doing down there? I came to see the movie!" The MC (playing Riff), responded. "Biatch! We *are* the show!"

This article really reminded me of that little bit: The willful ignorance of the woman and the 'FOAD' attitude of the guy in charge. And bravo to the theater owner, here.
