MMMM...Monica Belucci

2003-08-21 12:42:35 PM
Did anyone else notice the preponderance of 888s and 444s in the "Matrix Revolutions" title at the end?

There is also a lot of hachi characters, which is how you write 8. I don't see any shi = 4s in there tho. (My Japanese!)

What's that all about I wonder?
2003-08-21 12:43:44 PM
Count me in as one who ultimately enjoyed Reloaded, but was slightly disappointed. It's funny to watch the defenders drag out the "Oh people didn't like it because they didn't understand it..." excuse and brag about it as if you have to be some whizkid to appreciate it's level of discourse and intelligence.

My main gripe is with the fighting, actually. Since none of the good guys ever looks like they are going to get hurt, it all feels like choreographed blocking. Replace Agent Smith with 100 Michael Flatley's and it would play out the same. Any justification regarding Smith's ability now that he's free doesn't make up for boring fight scenes.

Secondly, the Architect looked cool, but is it really necessary to press pause 3/4's of the way through the movie and explain everything? The whole scene reeked of bad and lazy storytelling.
2003-08-21 12:46:47 PM
Reloaded sure seemed like a real film to me. I kindof remember paying the full $10 for a ticket...

if it's an incomplete movie, maybe I should pay a % of price, so I'll pay $3.33 for 1/3 of a trilogy? OK?

Fine, Mr. Movie Company Man, I'll just download it and watch for free. Go make Gigli II
2003-08-21 12:53:01 PM

Who knows if you'll read this, but extreme emotions are supposed to be "suppressed," not completely obliterated. The director has made this point several times, and I think that makes more sense than "OK EVERYBODY ACT LIKE ROBOTS K THX"
2003-08-21 01:01:35 PM
slick lookin trailer, all the good parts put into a 30 second bit...the first movie wuz the best so far...

it's the smell I hate, the smell of yer ass...
2003-08-21 01:04:03 PM

Hugo Weaving now officially has the scariest maniacal laugh in the history of the universe. And Keanu Reeves is hot. You may go now.
2003-08-21 01:25:54 PM
Equillibrium was great for what it was.

Matrix Revolutions...FULL joke
2003-08-21 01:28:59 PM
Ok FARK anyone who, after watching that trailer, says that that movie is going to suck. You apraently do not know movies. And just for the record...i liked reloaded.
2003-08-21 01:31:34 PM
whoops, this is the first page for Full Revolutions Spoiler...

Gives it all away, don't go to this link if u don't want the movie ruined for u...
2003-08-21 01:32:42 PM
what happened to morpheus saying "he fights for us" ? don't see that in this trailer
2003-08-21 01:40:19 PM

(except for the fact that the rave scene and Burly Brawl went on too long cut them both in half and recast the architect and make him less of a snotty psuedo-intellectual and the movie would have been perfect!)

[image from too old to be available]

The Architect could have delivered the same information in a much better way, without dumbing things down. "Ergo I'm gonna Architect a world of pain on your candy ass! Concordantly! Vis a vie!"

I'M SURE I'LL LOVE THE MATRIX:REVOLUTIONS It might even make that Architect's attitude make more sense!

damn html, I post on other boards that use [b] instead of > and <
2003-08-21 01:42:34 PM
After I saw Reloaded, i thought it was better than the first one, then I saw it again and thought that it was a little cheezy...

Bottom line though, these are futuristic looking kung fu movies IMO. As I like watching kung fu movies, on that level, I like these films, and Revolutions will kick some serious ass come this fall...

In the end, Reloaded gets a B+ in my book...But as far as highway chases, the chase in Bad Boys 2 was better.

Regardless, all films will have to bow down to ROTK here in a few months.
2003-08-21 01:46:10 PM
For all of you out there who see Matrix and Matrix Reloaded as shallow, full of plot holes, bad acting, and any other criticism you can think of I have these questions. Did you see the movies? If someone says Matrix, do you think about the movies? Has any money left your pocket in the pursuit of seeing these movies? Are you discussing these movies in a fark forum now? If so, you've already lost...

The Wachowski brothers are rich. You continue to babble on about their movies. They have conveyed their ideas to you and though you don't like it and continue to bad mouth it, you listened.

Personally, I like the movies for what they were. Action packed, special effects filled, how'd they do that, and what if. That is all.

Oh, and the chick in the latex and leather.
2003-08-21 01:47:34 PM
reloaded was the biggest disapppointment in the past 5-6 years of movies.....stupid
2003-08-21 01:48:01 PM
Any one see a ROTK trailer yet? Shouldn't it be out any day now?
2003-08-21 01:52:06 PM

Will Ferrell?
2003-08-21 02:35:54 PM
I read a review of Equilibrium at that touted it as the second coming. Sadly, it was just a dull rehash of 1984 and Farenheit 451 with some cool fights. And the packaging grossly misrepresented Sean Bean's screentime. Grrr. But the bit where Taye Diggs' face fell off was good though.
2003-08-21 02:37:06 PM

here is a link to a ROTK trailer. i don't know if this will be the one that makes it into the theaters or not. i think i read the official trailer won't hit theaters until 9.26.

sorry for not having an active link, the admins took away my html.
2003-08-21 02:38:35 PM
That's Will. from the MTV Movie Awards Matrix Spoof. You can see it here and it'll be on the Matrix Reloaded DVD (which I think 75% of the people on this thread who said "Reloaded Sucked" will still be buying)
2003-08-21 02:52:10 PM
when is revolutions coming out?????

75 days...
2003-08-21 02:59:08 PM
Reloaded was fine. Worthless, but fine.

As for Revolutions, this trailer perplexes me. It's very generic, shows me nothing that really interests me, and, for the life of me, I cannot figure out why it isn't shown in scope. Go figure.

2003-08-21 03:01:02 PM
Well, you know, I'm sure the release of "Jedi" made "Empire" look like a better movie. Now many people consider it to be the best of the series.
2003-08-21 03:05:29 PM
I don't think Revolutions is going to have midgets in muppet suits in it. God I hope not.

There's no use comparing Star Wars to the Matrix or LOTR, aside from being fantasy franshises, they aren't alike in any way.

George Lucas sucks and was lucky to make 2 good films, The W Brothers and Peter Jackson have some creativity.
2003-08-21 03:09:42 PM
I'm sorry, I despise what Lucas has become as much as the next guy, but to allege he has no creativity is a bit unfounded. The technologies that allowed Star Wars to be possible in the 70's/80's had to be invented for that movie- nobody had seen anything like it before. Groundbreaking. Star Wars was a leap ahead for modern cinema, and credit should be given where it is due. Also, if you read between the lines of the story, it has deeper mythological connotations as reflected in the works of Joseph Campbell- some of the characters in the movie's actions actually represent the movements of specific stars and recall earlier stories inspired by the same forces, such as Hamlet.
It's really a deep story. You should look into it.
2003-08-21 03:10:06 PM
Reloaded was weak, even more so than the original. Note to all pretentious filmmakers: confusing != deep.

I did understand most of what the Architect had to say -- I just think he could have said it in a quarter of the time and more understandably.

For the rest, the movie was like a Stephen King novel: desperately in need of editing. Almost every scene wore out its welcome, especially the fight scenes, which all went from "Wow, cool!" to "Ho hum. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along."

And don't even get me started on Keanu Reeves and the "Al Gore" style of acting he seems to prefer.

/not trolling, just tired of matrix worshippers and gaga reviewers who think the Wachowski brothers' rehash of Plato / Buddha is original
2003-08-21 03:16:54 PM
hahah I had not seen that MTV spoof. That shiat cracked me up.

Oh and, Reloaded was good. Even some of the confusing plot bits made me think later on about the story. The plot holes make you think in order to fill them in. Any movie that makes me think about it after the credits roll is a good movie in my opinion. I didn't walk away from the theater with any new ideas on the story but in the days that followed I came up with all kinds of crazy shiat. Revolutions will answer those questions for me, and for that, I can't wait to see the muthafarker.

Viva La Matrix!
2003-08-21 03:26:52 PM

Equilibrium was better!!! Hehe."

Agreed, the story was pure crap, but the Matrix's wasn't any better.

Now if you want to see Monica Bellucci in a good action film, rent Brotherhood of the Wolf. At least you get to see her boobies.
2003-08-21 03:28:39 PM
In Reloaded you can see her friggin' landing strip. Right through that white latex thing she was wearing (which made her ass look farkin' terrible). Look for it next time if you didn't catch it before.
2003-08-21 03:30:49 PM
Reloaded is being remastered for IMAX. And revolutions will be the first feature film to appear both in normal theaters and IMAX on opening days.
2003-08-21 03:33:11 PM
Star Wars is anything but deep. But I should have clarified my statement.

George Lucas Sucks as a director/writer now. But he is creative. He made 4 good films (THX, American Grafiti, StarWars IV and V directed by someone else, but still Lucas made all the creative choices)

The W Brothers and Peter Jackson aren't doing "original" work.

I can't remember my original point now. But Star Wars I and II show that George Lucas can't remember his original ideas from the early/mid 70's when he decided to skip ahead and do the more intresting middle act of his 9 part story.

George Lucas has done TONS of great work in the field of filmmaking but most of it has gone toward the creation of other films. He's got a great vision of how films will be made in the future, he just can't write a good one himself. But who cares? he's rich and he's doing what he love to do. More power to him. and he still sucks. ;P

Damn it! how did I miss that? I'll have to freeze frame it on DVD. Which scene?

You don't see the "landing strip" and ass at the same time do you? That would be badly missplaced!
2003-08-21 03:38:09 PM
Uhh,... every scene in the mansion where they're meeting the Merovingian and she's facing the camera and you can see below her waist. That white latex gig she's wearing is apparently quite translucent, and she's not wearing any panties.
2003-08-21 03:40:00 PM
Oh and, no, no landing strip on the ass.

I wish they would not have shown her ass while wearing that thing. Just made it look horribly long and flat. [shudder]
2003-08-21 03:40:26 PM
Reloaded is a good film. The Matrix is a GREAT film.

that is all.
2003-08-21 03:40:39 PM
Sorry. Yawn. Now that Larry, er Lana, Wachowski decided to cut his own penis off, I am afraid of getting weird subliminal messages.
The sex change video is going to be more entertaining.
2003-08-21 03:49:50 PM
Which brother is Larry and which one is Andy? They don't do press so I have no idea. I know one is small while the other is "Husky"
2003-08-21 03:53:02 PM
Lana is the little sister. Andy is the Husky one who will now get beat up at school.
