It's not that I think it's fake. I just don't think it's Bigfoot. It's not even a large figure. The group may or may not have staged the run-across, but whether they did or not, that looks like a college kid.

It makes perfect sense for a massive anthropoid so diabolically stealthy that's it's never once left DNA evidence anywhere in the form of hair, poop, or a body, and is only rarely spotted in the remotest woods, to be walking around in broad daylight 50 yards from day hikers while not even looking in their direction. There are two sasquatch on my hill. We leave berries out and respect their territory. This has been a long winter so we left bread out with jam or honey on it, they took it about half the time. Anyhow, they're good to have around because cougars don't like them so the cats are safe.

There's an argument that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but I say bollocks to that. If you start with an idea without evidence then it's just an idea. It's the reason the String Hypothesis isn't a full fledged Theory. It's currently unprovable, and may never be proven.

With the proliferation of game cameras Bigfoot would have come to light by now. But it hasn't. It won't. Bigfoot is just another failed hypothesis with people clinging on.

/And don't get me started on the bigger failed hypothesi.

When I see something like this, one of the first things I think is "What were they filming in the first place?" What was remarkable about the events immediately prior to "the moment?"

Filming your friends hiking down a tiny hill is worthy of recording for posterity? Were you recording the entire hike or just the treacherous portions, in case someone fell down and you had an AFV moment? I've known some self-important douchebags in my day, but filming your hike is pretty over-the-top. I'm voting "FAKE" on this one.

I saw that mentioned elsewhere, but it doesn't make sense. I've never seen anything that actually changed the frame. I think the actual frame is larger, and that is added for effect.

The bigfoot is completely real, of course. Let's not lose sight of that!

Actually there have been several samples of Yeti DNA and scat samples found. At least one was determined to be DNA "of an unknown primate species".

The best evidence for bigfoot so far IMO is still the Patterson film. It was shot before the days of decent special effects and whatever was in the film is clearly not proportioned like a human being. The arms are just too long, and there's no fixing the fact that people have elbows. Have a look at the Slim Jim bigfoot moving around and the short human arms stick out like a sore thumb.

As for whatever is in this video, it is proportioned just like a human. Backlit jogger, IMO. No point to CGI something that looks like a person. Must have been amusing as hell when the hikers looked over the footage later, though.

Still up in the air on the whole bigfoot thing, though. No bodies and slim chance of a sustainable breeding population are the biggest arguments against. But I keep an open mind since I have witnessed stranger things personally.

Adobe After Effects will do the same thing. It's great if you have shaky-cam from some teenager who chugged 3 Monster energy drinks then tried to video tape something, only to have it come out looking like something out of Cloverfield. You can set up a couple of markers and tell the software "Keep these in the same spot, please" and it will adjust the surrounding video to make it smoother.

Or so I've heard.

Faked video is fake.

When someone says they were using an iPhone with limited storage to record something as boring as a hike in the woods that raises a red BS flag.

When they then claim they inadvertantly captured a Bigfoot in the background that they didn't notice until checking it on on their computer later that raises another red BS flag.
