why would I do that? The article says the barbecue was cooked perfectly and most likely done by a professional chef. Obama was just posing for a photo, and I am okay with that.

2011-05-27 09:55:11 AM
Jesus H. Motherf*ck that was a whiny article.

2011-05-27 09:56:05 AM
The author sounds concerned.

I'm coming up empty here, trying to think of something clever to say.

But this is probably the single stupidest right wing crying jag I've read on the internet all year. It stands on it's own. I don't know how this guy even managed to write this without his forehead popping out of his skull.

Jesus F*cking Christmas.

2011-05-27 10:00:15 AM
I mean, seriously, the guy's entire argument is that 'resident Zer0bama is an elitist because some English chef properly cooked him some f*cking barbeque chicken?

2011-05-27 10:10:59 AM
Look guys, they don't call it the Daily Fail for nothing.

2011-05-27 10:13:53 AM
i would be very happy if politicians exchanged their "look i'm having a pint of beer like some normal jack-off" pandering for "look i'm pounding a steak baja gordita value meal like some normal jack-off" pandering.

Did this guy just question a black man's proficiency with barbeque chicken? That's just a bridge too far.

There aren't enough dicks in the world for the Daily Mail to choke on.

Really?? Its come to the point where they are even criticizing the man's (staged) cooking because it was TOO well prepared?

Holy fike

If this is the worst criticism you can come up with, you're totally f*cked

Yay, I saw the word "chicken" in the headline and came here to play the race card. Glad to see somebody beat me to it.

I take the snark is because the piss arsed limeys are still put out by having to foot the bill for the Royal Wedding from taxes taken out of their pay packets.

Wow guys maybe I'm being too kind here, but that whole article read tounge-in-cheek to me. All of the things "missing" were bad things - kids breaking shiat, bad food, etc. I think he was having a bit of fun.

Subby went troll on the headline, yes, but the article itself?

Link (new window)

That beautiful golden-brown turkey President Bush held during his surprise visit to U.S. troops in Iraq was for show, not for eating, the Washington Post reports.

The photo of Mr. Bush holding the bird on a platter laden with trimmings was the most memorable image of the president's 2 1/2-hour stay with U.S. troops at the Baghdad International Airport.

The newspaper reported that in response to questions about the bird, the White House said the turkey was a decoration adorning the steam table where GIs picked up their food on cafeteria-style trays.

It's British, they don't understand sarcastic humor like us Americans.

The last few paragraphs are where the tears start flowing.

sigh . . . now to add grilled chicken to the list of right wing manufactured outrage, right along with the mustard and the arugula and the 40 oz beer and the india trip and his relaxation of the dress code and his "many" vacations and his wife's love of lobster (yes its a hoax but the Tea Party doesn't seem to understand that) and so on and so forth.

notShryke: Why does Michelle always look so goddamned mad?

Because she hates whitey.

I really liked the last two sentences in the article, actually

So, please, Mr Cameron, don't turn into Tony Blair, strutting the world stage from one fake photo-opportunity to the next.

If you really want to convince us that you're just like us, how about tackling the problems that actually concern us?

Also are some of you people really so thick as to not understand that the guy is being sarcastic with his criticism for the most part and is not attacking the barbeque per se but the need for manufactured events meant to show that 'politicians are just guys like us'?

Ooh, good call, I had to read on a bit further. It got bad quickly.

/like a storm at a barbecue. Damn you WeatherManBama!

Someone got paid money to write that article. Probably 5-6 times minimum wage. If that doesn't make you want to kill yourself, what does?

What's more ridiculous - events to show that they're just like us, criticism of these events, or the criticism they'd get if they NEVER had these events?

There is no winning move.

That's entirely separate from the other thing. I've lived with women, all they do is plan nefarious misdeeds.

Well, he is talking about Daily Mail readers when he says "us". And the issues them concern Daily Mail readers are illegal immigrant and single mums and yobs and the EU making all the bananas straight. So I don't find that particularly inspiring.
