Also, "Real news. Real funny." is real stupid. There's a good deal of sick sad world that makes the front page that is decidedly not funny.

I don't understand why websites always have to keep changing things. You just start to get used to a
thing, learn all the ins and outs, and they go and change it on you leaving you right back at square one
again. What is wrong with keeping things the same all the time? What's the fascination with always
changing and evolving? Whatever happened to the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? I just want some
stability in my life. Nothing is compatible with my Windows 2000 anymore. It works fine except nothing
supports it. It's everyone's damn fascination with change!

nixing the music tab realy sucks. Yeah, I'll get over it. But seriously, that sucks to have to waid through a bunch of TMZ bullshiat to find music news relevant to my intrests.

It's weird not seeing everything in Verdana.

Somebody make with the new Studman69 graphic, chop-chop.

meg: dprathbun: How do I see it if I'm not logged in?

If you're not logged in, the "Welcome, dprathbun!" will turn into "Log in" and "Sign up" links.

I dunno about following "It's not news, it's FARK" with "Real News. Real Funny." The branding should probably make sense...

I'm also not a fan of the font change, but still have my eyesight, so that's probably why.

Other than that, I like the redesign better than the current version, which is a first for me.

Caeldan: BRING BACK THE SKITTLES TABS

What he said! Or at least some color back in the section headers. The colors are good visual navigation clues, plus everything else is so ... gray.

BurnShrike: Yep. The Fark logo sucks ass. So does the new tagline. "Real News. Real Funny"? C'mon. That's terrible.

I was thinking of coming up with one and posting it. The trick is to keep the brand recognition while taking it to the next level. If I get a chance, I may do one tonight.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet... but why not include a button that allows you to adjust the font size to your liking? (Yes, I know Firefox and probably other browsers allow you to do this anyway.)

/also not a fan of "Real news. Real funny."

browntimmy: Also the logo looks like it was designed by a non-designerbeer-swiggling pikey.

FTFY.

on my netbook screen, i have to scroll left and right a little. not that big of an issue, but since it left aligns naturally, i dont see all of the spam on the right.

Anyone else having trouble staying logged in today?

2011-05-27 05:35:13 PM
I get logged out every time I navigate the site.

I just came up with a great slogan for Fark

It's not news, it's Fark!

Novart: I just came up with a great slogan for Fark

That's perfect! How long did that take to come up with?

Seriously, my graphic design teachers would have given the new logo a D or worse. Boring font, tacky looking gradient. I can live with the rest of the site, though.

I honestly think it would be genius if they changed it to "You'll get over it," and leave it at that.

I think I speak for all TFers when I say that the new UltraFark design with the free booze and hookers is absolutely bri***CARRIER LOST***

Brilliant. But it sounds strangely familiar...

My personal slogan for Fark is "Come for the headlines, stay for the threads". It represents what I love most about this place.

I like the redesign. Good job, Fark team!

You're being paid for that endorsement, right?

Seriously. I can't stay logged in. It's really annoying.

keep rockin that cynicism. do you not like it?

Looks good - though an option to use Helvetica, instead of Arial, would be very nice indeed.

Works okay while drunk.

FWIW, I usually view FARK on a T43 Thinkpad on XP Pro. Using latest FireFox. There's some mush to the right of the screen, but it doesn't take away from Fark content. FF's adblock works.

I tried it with IE 8 bone stock at work on similar computers. Ads slowed it down compared to FF that I have installed on those machines.

I don't have any problems with the new FARK.

It could be worse.

meg: BuckTurgidson: Good show, chaps!

It's in the top right, under "Welcome, BuckTurgidson!"

Duh. I mistook it for a generic web-search field.

Good show, I say!
