I sure do miss those Jose Cuervo™ Cue Moment Of The Week ads. I sure hope that gets included!

I'm not reading the whole thing, so somebody catch me up:

Will this affect the mobile version as well?

Some people are still pant crapping from the last redesign, this should be a joy.

MFAWG: I'm not reading the whole thing, so somebody catch me up:

Don't think so, it's still the same right now.

/Why would you use that travesty? It's impossible to follow a conversation on it.
2011-05-26 10:46:39 PM
Also: No music tab? I'd rather not see a bunch of Lady Gaga links in the Showbiz tab, thankyouverymuch.
2011-05-26 10:46:47 PM
Wait.. what happened to show biz!?
2011-05-26 10:48:10 PM
I agree that we need some form of the "Continue Farking" button at the bottom...
2011-05-26 10:48:22 PM
Like the design, dislike the font choice... I'm sure I'll get used to reading it, but I'd like a font that's a little less cramped (size doesn't matter as much, heh).

Much cleaner than the last one.
2011-05-26 10:49:35 PM

the_second_inmate: I miss the tab colors.

Same here. No tab colors, no bueno.
2011-05-26 10:51:13 PM
Actually, I changed my mind. This redesign blows ass. Looks like some 35 year old Gap manager's lifestyle blog.
2011-05-26 10:51:19 PM

WhyteRaven74: I've seen it already, and I'm already over it.

Yeah, I think I've been using the new design for about a week.

I'm over it, and ready to biatch about something new.

Oh, and as for the music tab people... You'll get over it.

Seriously, the music tab was nothing more than a wretched hive of scum and villainy that was used only for trolling, and never got any replies.

Maybe split between Showbiz and Video, music related topics will get more than five responses, three of which are trolls.

I'll be on the lookout for the rage-quit thread. I'll let it build and fester until then, so that I have some true vitriol to spew.

/i'm getting angry
//you wouldn't like me when i'm angry
///but i'll wait until June 1st
////then RAGE QUIT!
2011-05-26 10:53:13 PM

Could use a little color. Colour even.
2011-05-26 10:53:25 PM
Oh, and it's 2011 and you're still using table based layout? Aim high, Drew!
2011-05-26 10:56:00 PM
anyone remember last time, when Jeff said you'll get over it? remember that? that was gold

Why is everything gray!?
2011-05-26 10:58:25 PM
So far so good--been running it since I got the Mac back and was notified that I could make the switch to try the Beta. Looks similar to the Mobile interface, which isn't terribly surprising. Easy enough to find everything--a little annoying on the profile with the additional clicks, but there is less scrolling, and an easy on the eyes size.

I'll get over it. So long as I get to keep idiots on Ignore, I'm good.
2011-05-26 10:58:50 PM
I know it's down the track after this goes live, but will the excellence of the new Mobile site also change?
2011-05-26 10:58:53 PM
Oh, and the lighter color for clicked on comment links is kind of crappy.

Can you turn 'em red, or something?
2011-05-26 11:00:44 PM
The greyness. I am disappoint.
2011-05-26 11:01:09 PM

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: the_second_inmate: I miss the tab colors.

Same here. No tab colors, no bueno.

Indeed. This redesign is incredibly boring and cramped. The new logo blends into the dark grey background and looks hazy. The white/light grey (Main, Sports, Geeks, etc.) fades into the dark grey as well, and is especially boring. Nothing looks eye-catching or appealing. All the usernames, comments, and spacings look cramped, while the font is large and awkward.

And that new slogan is beyond terrible:

It's not news, it's... Fark!
Real news. Real funny. Find out more.

Bipolar Fark loves you!

Pick one and stick with it.

Just discovered something. If you squeeze in your browser window from the right to eliminate the ads, and just have the headlines/comments, it makes for a much leaner thing to have open on your monitor at work ...

As I have two 24" monitors with a fair bit of "not work" stuff open, this is a handy thing.

2011-05-26 11:07:02 PM
Just two things:

- agree that we need the 'continue FARKING' button back (or similar)

- down in the post comments section; get rid of the non-popping link button. it's so annoying that someone gets lazy or is too stupid to figure out how to use the poppy link and then i click on their link and lose FARK because i thought that their non-poppy link popped. like and such need MAPS!

/a touch more color wouldn't hurt, but it's not a deal breaker
2011-05-26 11:10:35 PM
Looks fine.

And I have to ask, wtf is the "fark shop"? The stupid crap it thinks I want to buy is ridiculous.
2011-05-26 11:11:23 PM
my only question is will Tucker Max think it's epic?

/drew and the rest of this trainwreck are still riding the inertia of half a decade ago's relevancy
//that is all
2011-05-26 11:12:41 PM

Ed Finnerty: Be sure to add these at the bottom of the pages:

If you haven't noticed that yet.

Amen, brother! That's the only thing I see that is missing. Overall, the site looks cleaner, easier to read. Good work, guys, and thanks, TF'ers for providing the dough for an overhaul.

Has anyone addressed the ''get over it'' issue yet?

*phew* it's a good layout. I was concerned reading the headline. Glad to see it didn't go Gawker on us :)

2011-05-26 11:15:16 PM

kayos: Slow guy here.
I would like see the headline search somewhere.
Use it alot to reference stuff.

It's there - in the top right-hand corner under "Welcome, kayos!"
2011-05-26 11:16:13 PM
Sweet, I like how it takes a long time to load. Just like all those shiatty gawker sites! Awesome!

Might be just the first time loading it.... but I'm scared of change!
Seriously, it's okay. Nothing major and looks less like Fruity Pebbles barf than before. I'll get used to it.

*little note, might want to at least stick some kind of little line around the "tabs". Just looks bare without them. Might be just me though.
2011-05-26 11:16:58 PM
Constructive criticism: The "Main Sports Geek Business... etc" banner visually seems to have too much vertical space. Scrunch that in a little more, or make the "you are here" demarkation bump alot taller.

Also, the new font color (light grey) in the comment box is a little too light for my tastes. Whats wrong with black? Contrasts in text input areas are a good thing.
2011-05-26 11:18:57 PM
I can't taste the rainbow anymore, and that makes me sad.
2011-05-26 11:19:03 PM
I'll get over it.

/Looks nice and clean.
2011-05-26 11:19:33 PM

/but needs spellchk
2011-05-26 11:20:55 PM
"Zyzzyx"? Who are you trying to send back to their home dimension?
2011-05-26 11:23:18 PM
Didn't you people JUST do a redesign?? For fark's sake, it took months to get the mobile version even close to workable on my crackberry, where I most look at fark, and now you folks are changing the shiat up again! Fark you and get it right quick on mobile if you *must* biatches.

/Are people really biatching about too much or too little white space and font size.
//could complain til the end of time about certain zoom/resize shiat about reading articles from fark and other places -- it's always different and y'know what?? I just deal.
///it's nice that fark is trying to show they give a fark about it with these threads, but then the mod goes "this side says this and the other side says that" and they can't handle the decision.
2011-05-26 11:23:51 PM

HawgWild: sn82: HawgWild: sn82: HawgWild: I've been over it. I started using the new design as soon as it was available to TFers ...

You and your fancy TF abilities make me sick :P

Don't make me sponsor you ...

Nobody can sponsor me. I'm on the naughty list...

What did you do?

I purposely told them to not have anybody sponsor me. One person tried and failed.
