I think it's good that all the old Bush cronies are getting hired in this economy, it's not like there is going to be another R president for awhile to take them back.

Just Farmville should be enough, tax all the invites and spam that it sends out and you could match the GDP.

You know, who farking cares if corporations can't vote. They can pay a lobbyist to whisper into the ears of senators and stuff dollars in their pock*cough* campaign funds and get exactly what they want.

A lobbyist is worth tends of thousands of votes, if not millions.

When all the libs and Bush bashers boycott Facebook, I will actually believe they are serious and not a bunch of cows following the herd.

Until then, zip it.

So you're saying that just because Bush tried to start WW3, sent us into the second coming of the great depression, bankrupted the country, and shredded the constitution.....just to name a few things, isn't reason to bash him? Do you work for an oil company by any chance?

Some fat broad I know does it all the time, then sends emails asking if I want to poke her too. Sadly, I kind of do.

I think I'll be ditching FB once they start to truly get cozy with the gub'mint. I don't post much but it's all getting too creepy.

Clearly, most people with Facebook pages aren't that concerned about privacy. So it's hard to get all mad about Facebook hiring some former Bush admin scumbags to help them violate Facebook user privacy. There's one way to keep Facebook out of your business: don't have a Facebook page.

I don't see most users giving theirs up anytime soon. The urge to attention whore is way too strong, apparently.

What he's saying is completely reasonable. If you join facebook, you waive several constitutional rights, and the ability to criticize W. Seems fair to me.

From TFA: "One of the processes [Kaplan] ran for the Bush White House was the Patriot Act," Perino told The Hill. She contrasted the political climate at the time with the recent bipartisan vote on the law's extension on "the exact same provisions that were in the one that Bush signed, that we went through political hell to get."

I know people who have a Facebook simply for their network and even planning. They don't post crap about themselves all day nor complain when their interests and contact info get sold to a spammer.

The simplistic form of Facebook is safe and private. It's when people put everything on FB and then whine that it knows too much about them.

"Before working for the Bush White House, Kaplan clerked for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia; he graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review."

So he has no real-world experience. Twenty years in school and then straight to DC, where a typical workday starts with a 10:00 meeting, then break for lunch, then the 2:00 meeting where you discuss what happened at the 10:00, then your Administrative Assistant to your Assistant Administrator calls for your car to be brought round so your driver can take you home.

And make the time to check your email somehow. Whew.

Completely detached from reality, he thinks everybody "works" like this.

He could seamlessly move to the obama administration or to the former clinton administration because they do and did the same thing.

I guess you lefties have to do something to divert people away from obama's illegal war against Libya.

2011-05-26 04:47:12 PM
BTW, nice way to divert attention away from the entity that is the privacy evading (just like google) obama sycophant and push the blame to the person they hire to persue this.

When is google going to be prosecuted for their privacy abuses? That's right, if you are a friend of obama, no need to worry about your illegal intercepts of people's private data. And no need to worry about being the target of obama's sycophant media.

Friggin Obama is doing a much better job of shredding the constitution than Bush ever even thought about.

Joel Kaplan, who served as deputy chief of staff under former President George W. Bush, will join Facebook on June 13 as vice president of U.S. public policy. He will report to vice president of global public policy Marne Levine.

Wouldn't that make him the vice-vice president or something?

What type of voting majority or Presidential powers do you think Obama and the Democrats have had since he was first elected to be able to change such a controversial bill wrapped in blind faux patriotism?

For a while, full control of the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate. They were free to accomplish anything they wanted either through Congressional Bill or Executive Order.

How disingenuous. Why do you use the term full control? Filibuster proof majority?
