If they really wanted to mess with him they would have made the payments varying amounts. Writing the same thing over and over again is too easy for him.

I'm sorry, but that is totally stupid. $25000 a month, and they even state that it is too low a figure? Give me a break, tone down your extravagant lifestyle you retards.....

In Canada all it takes is a year or two of living together as a couple and you are considered married under common law. Doesn't matter whether you are a heterosexual or homosexual couple either you can be facing a 50/50 split of your stuff.

How come the woman is allowed to continue living "the lifestyle she's accostomed to" but the man is not? She got used to having money, and she gets to keep having money after the relationship ends. He got used to plowing her on a regular basis, but he doesn't get to keep farking her after the relationship ends. Doesn't seem fair. I say, if she gets to keep living as though she's farking a rich guy, the rich guy should be able to continue farking her.

That said, I still hate Nickelback, too.

Because divorce/alimony laws as we know them were written during the 1930s (or earlier) and haven't changed since. For the children, or something.

10 years? So if I remember marriage right, that works out to having sex like...24 times. Hell, how about I blow some divorce court judge once and he pays me 25k a year? Sounds like a farking deal to me.

P0rn won't clean your house, but it can help with the other stuff.
If I am going to pay for something, I want the dishes, laundry, and cleaning done.

If a guy can't get his wife to have sex with him he should blow guys for money anyway.

In Canada, all you have to do is live together for awhile which is what happened here.

The thing is he never even got married, hence "common law."

Accustomed to a standard of living is a BS thing, as mentioned above. 300k a year to do nothing. She's a prostitute. The article didn't mention how long this is for, but what is the likelihood that he will still be earning nearly 10 million dollars a year (how does he do that now?) in a decade? Rock stars and their money come and go.

based on Kroeger's annual income of $9.7 million,

Who the fark is paying him? And why?

I don't know much about divorce laws and whatnot, not having been around too many divorcees in my lifetime. How long does he have to pay that for?

This gold-digging skank was asking for just under $100,000 a month to maintain her lifestyle. Do these people realize what $100,000 - ONCE - could do for someone who works for a living? With that I could actually afford to buy my own place. (Not outright, in Vancouver, but at least I could actually afford the down payment and knock back the mortgage payments.) Hell, $25K, once, could almost do that for a reasonable place.

The idle rich piss me off so much.

A one time payment of $25,000 would dramatically change and improve the quality of my life. Not that my life is bad, but $25,000 would change a lot for me. Having said that, you couldn't get me to listen to a Nickelback album if you paid me $25,000.

/That last part is a lie. I listen all the time, my woman loves them.
//I'm going to have no choice but to see them in concert, due to said woman.
///The sex with said woman more than makes up for her love of Nickelback.

So does Steve Austin. He was filling in for Nikki Sixx the other night and said they were his "band of choice" right now. Methinks he just got a lot less bad-ass.

Why is this hard to understand???

You leave the person, you leave the lifestyle. If I leave my wife, do I still get to grab her tits and bend her over the liveseat when I feel like it? No? Why not? Shed get to keep the "lifestyle", so why doesn't it go both ways??

It's not enough. She should get all his money, and he should be forced to become yet another of Vancouver's hobo squadron, living under bridges and washing my car windows. Call it punitive damages for a lifetime of pain inflicted on the music-listening public, I don't care, I just want this man to be homeless.

Yeah but that's because they're half of what they should be, so it will still just add up to the $25k.

/would have said "oh snap", but I couldn't resist.
