Is he trying to make a bigger joke of himself than he did in the last election? 'Cause that will be tough.

2011-05-24 12:57:14 PM
Why not? In a field of idiots, he stands out. King of the Dipshiats.

2011-05-24 12:59:43 PM
hahahaha...oh dear lord. You do that.

Rudy, here's a hint: You can't run on 9/11 anymore. All you did was stand there looking tough and went to some Yankees games.

Obama killed Bin Laden.

Let's hope he keeps the same advisers. His last primary campaign wasn't even run on 9/11, it was run on waiting out all the initial primaries to just focus on the big states. Do you remember what an epic disaster that was? Now he is joining and absolutely nobody has even spoken about him yet until this article, so he is going to get murdered in all the initial primaries again; what the fark is he thinking?

Why not? It's not like there were any terrorist attacks under Bush's watch. But there was under Obama's!

I'm really excited to see how his Rhode Island strategy works.

Really, GOP? That's all you got this year? Tired, has-been retreads?

2011-05-24 01:27:05 PM
Osama's dead, homie. Your mojo died with him. 9/11's done, get over it.

In short, do yourself a favor and develop a heart condition. You don't need to fall on your sword for the GOP.

2011-05-24 01:27:07 PM
If 9/11 wants to 9/11, then 9/11 should 9/11 if voters 9/11 9/11.

9/11.

2011-05-24 01:27:20 PM
The Republican field this time is so amazingly weak that he actually has a chance. Of course, winning the Republican presidential nomination this cycle is like being crowned "tallest midget".

I never realized the Donald was rocking a mullet in that photo before. (Perhaps because one's eye is more quickly drawn to the lovely lady on his left).

Giulliani never, ever, ever says 9/11. This is a popular falsehood. Seriously, listen to his speeches.

However, he says "September Eleventh" all the farking time. Sometimes, he does the full "September Eleventh Two thousand and One".

Geotpf: winning the Republican presidential nomination this cycle is like being crowned "tallest midget".

The fact that there has to be a GOP nominee next year is the political equivalent of there having to be a Pirate and an Oriole on the MLB All-Star teams each season.

2011-05-24 01:30:41 PM
Most of the fawning over him has long since expired. I'm not sure why it was there in the first place. Ok he was mayor of NYC during the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil in history. And he did those thing a mayor would do in such an instance. He did them competently, but so would just about anyone who held that office. I never got why he was so popular after 9/11, but I think that's all but dried up. He's not unlike Newt with his personal baggage, and by all accounts from people who know him, he's pretty much a dick. I don't see this going anywhere.

It's gotta be some kind of way to skim money off of PAC's or something. Maybe a tax write-off. Something.

Another grifter, like Palin. He set up security consulting companies after 9/11 because his close proximity to The Battle of Lower Manhattan made him a terrorism "expert."

Um, a decimal representation of 9/11?

I still don't understand how being mayor (or governor, or president) on 9/11 makes you a good candidate for anything. I think I must be missing a few sparkles on my eagle.

Maybe he'll try campaigning in more than one state this time.

It's simpler than that:

They know they can't win this time around.

Anyone with any 'real' potential and/or desire to be President is ducking, dodging, avoiding, hiding, excusing their way out of running in 2012.

It's a 'general' rule that if you run and get the nomination and lose, you're done as a candidate. You never get another shot. Nixon was the last one who got a second chance and 'he' got 'resigned' before he got officially impeached.

So, the smart and capable GOPer candidates are going to sit back and find a reason to avoid running, while padding their resume for 2016 when Obama the GOP Slayer can't run again.

Yup. And Rudy can't get any traction against Obama now that he ordered the operation that killed the man responsible for 9-11. When you think of Guliani, you now think, "Oh yeah, Obama ordered Osama's head on a pike and now he's fish food."

You almost certainly mis-remembered the clip. He probably said "Septeember Eleventh" instead of 9/11. I have never heard him say "nine eleven". Not once.

HotWingConspiracy: Queen Tard of the Northlands will be hopping in at the last minute too. (new window)

If she runs, she wins, IMHO. The field is so weak she will clean up without having to work too hard. It still looks doubtful she'll run, though.

But many of them ARE running. So either they are egotistical and delusional enough to believe they can win or they're making money off of the deal. And it's gotta be serious money, too, since it's so damn tough and time-consuming to actually make a real go of it.

If she ran, she wouldn't even best Bachman. Michelle's got the nuttard religious wacko vote, which is most of Palin's hope.

I don't think she'll run, but who knows.

I think she's trying to suss out just the right moment to announce to get the most impact in the press and with fundraisers. She's just waiting to see if another big name will announce, she needs to make sure she's the last one.

Most people phrase it "Nine Eleven", but he always uses the full "September Eleventh". It's a style thing. I was mainly making a weak joke by pointing it out.

wins the primary maybe. Obama is gonna sweep the election though. Not because he's great, but because the Republicans are so weak.

If he runs this year, he'll have a chance to raise enough money to pay off the massive debts his campaign incurred the last time he ran.

Remember, there was a reason why his website was still soliciting donations for the Giuliani '08 campaign until February of 2011.

Yup. If the field stays as weak as it is, she's in. If not, and it will take actual work to win the nomination, she's out.
