I've got an erhu at home, so when I saw that 3 stringed thing the gal in yellow was playing I wondered, "what's that called, a sanhu?" Heh. Then the text said it was a sanxian which, after looking it up, turns out to mean "3 strings".

My wife is an erhu player (Nanning, China), and of all the music she hears in the US, she likes country the best.
