There's two garbage bags I wouldn't mind seeing wiped off the face of the earth.

If I had the money I would definitly be there to see the world's best basketball player come back and wipe the floor with today's best.

And if you were a conservative white guy, I'm sure Spike wouldn't even glance your way.

This person who bought this is a F.U.C.K.I.N.G idiot.

Awww, I thought they meant Jordan, not Michael Jordon :(

That's actually the price of a pretty nice house here in good ol' KC.

Fark the NBA. Fark Spike Lee. What a waste of perfectly good money.
2001-10-24 10:17:39 AM
I'd probably end up punching Spike upside his head because I'm sure he would say something to piss me off.

"What would you bid to sit next to an acclaimed filmmaker?"

Well, if we substitute a real filmmaker, say, Scorcese, or Coppola, or Soderberg, and change the location to somewhere other than an NBA game, we'll talk.

I don't watch that fark in my own house.......

and screw spike lee... farking racist little bastard....

If you own a business, it's really pretty cheap advertising. Imagine what an ad would cost during that game. Imagine what Jordan would charge to directly endorse your product. This guy is going to get a lot of press coverage for $100K.

Have any of you read this is for charity? That is, the money is going to the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows' and Children's Fund? All of the dozens of auctions they've been doing for these funds are like this: Dinner with a famous author, private performance by an artist, and of course the bids are through the roof because it's for charity. If someone was blowing major dollars for something out of a pure "gimmie" approach, it wouldn't be making news.

the whole fiasco deserves a ***yawn*****......
2001-10-24 11:55:18 AM
You'd have to pay me $101,300 to sit around with that midget dork Spike Lee.
2001-10-24 12:09:23 PM
Yeah, like I'd want to spend time with Spike Lee(much less pay to do it). Zzzzzzzzz............
2001-10-24 01:04:04 PM
At least it's for charity.
2001-10-24 01:27:23 PM
For that kinda money, you could fund 6 Spike Lee movies.
2001-10-24 01:46:53 PM
Why is this stupid? It's for charity. You people are missing the whole point of charity auctions.
2001-10-24 02:03:14 PM
How 'bout that Jordan? Where are all the nay-sayers talking about how he's gonna suck now that he's back? Huh? Where'd you all go?
2001-10-24 02:33:31 PM
has he done anything yet?
2001-10-24 04:10:33 PM
Spike was on some interview last week, and the invterviewer (mistakenly) stated the proceeds of the auction went to the fire and police charities. Spike chimed in and said that it went ONLY to the fire dept. charity. Guess we know how Spike feels about cops. One more reason I never go to one of his films.

It's not like this is just a cashgrab, it's for a charity. Besides, what's with all the vitriol against Spike Lee? I admit, not all of his movies are great, but a few of them were pretty good I thought.

He started it...
