Well played. +1

After seeing him in Intervention, I'm not shocked. Who hasn't been waiting for another Hollywood celebrity filled to the brim with self-pity self-destructing in such a way? The only shock is that he didn't go earlier.

Sad, but that's the problem with celebrity culture. Sometimes, you just have to fade. Live your own life. And not hang around in Cali dosing heavily and becoming THAT guy who can't let it go.

I saw Jeff Conaway at a Sci-Fi convention some years back.. late 90's? He had some stories about rooming with John Travolta in the old days, when they did the stage version of Grease. They alternated playing the lead role. Then when it came time for the movie, I guess it was Travolta's turn.

why are there so many demons haunting the hollywood croud?

do we need to get the Pope in there for some massive exorcism?

was Hollywood built on an Indian graveyard?

She wasn't exactly a TV star, more a glamour girl. And if memory serves, she was in movies more than TV.

Her sister, Eva, on the other hand, was a TV star.

Do they have more demons or do you just tend not to hear about the demons of non-famous people?

Yes, Angela's Theme. It was originally written as a small piece of background music for the fat chick from the episode, but the producers liked it so much, it became the Taxi theme.

I don't know if it's just an urban legend or not, but it has been said that HBO wanted to pick up Taxi for a sixth season, and the producers wanted to open the new, uncensored Taxi with a close-up shot of Marilu Henner's bare breasts.

Why, HBO? Why didn't you pick up Taxi?

Porous Horace His manager described Conaway as a "gentle soul" but one who has been unable to "get a job."

You mean drunkenly running over a Middle Eastern bicyclist in your Porsche doesn't pay?

Here's a very cool superextended version of it (misnomered "Angels" by the YouTube subby) performed live at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UMu5iSB3VQ&feature=related in 1995 (new window).

Hope you come around (AND finally "come around") despite the near impossible odds, Jeff. Either that or you go quickly so that your family doesn't have to overly agonize over the decision to unplug you.

I met him at a con as well, back then. Even got a picture with him somewhere, with me in a Psi Corps uniform. He seemed like a pretty decent guy, if a little manic. I am sad to hear this, but given his slide the last several years, it's not unexpected. Time to bust out my Grease and B5 DVD's for a marathon...

I like to have some drugs sometimes, or my life is pretty gloomy. Not ashamed of it--I've had a hard life. And I haven't had a drink in over 20 years.

Everybody has their way of coping with things. Just because you don't use drugs doesn't mean you don't have some other stupid addiction to cheer you up. For a lot of people it's buying things and acquiring money. I think those people are idiots.

What if you need a rollercoaster to be happy? or sex? or music? are you still a miserable person?

Maybe YOU are actually the miserable person.... this might explain your inability to accept that others find enjoyment in things which you do not approve.

This is what happens when people with no real sense of self get caught up in the high that is fame. When the fame goes, they replace that high with drugs.
